Ukraine did not withdraw its troops; everyone was surrounded and destroyed. Not many people went out on foot; the kilometer-wide corridor was under constant artillery fire.

100% soviet town built by the USSR. What exactly Ukraine has made significant for this city in 33 years? Apart from making a fortress to bomb shell civilians in Donetsk? Same rule applies for the whole south-east Ukraine to be exact.
