August 25th 1 1/2 day tuna trip on the Pacific Dawn With the Challengers Angling Club!

Basically, I was able to take two videos and I just joined them together. The first, longer part of the video shows member Steve Ruffino fighting a bluefin tuna. I had to turn off the camera because it was taking too long, and unfortunately, he lost the fish. The second part shows member Daniel Stowe pulling in a nice bluefin. In the middle of the fight a rod fell from the rack, so I picked it back up, which is why there is a bit of an interruption in the recording.

Still, thanks to the Captain and crew of the Pacific Dawn, it was a great day. We ended up with 68 bluefin tuna and about 40 to 50 small yellowtail. Most of the bluefin were in the 15-20 pound range but we weren't going to complain since the fishing had been pretty tough lately. Many boats had to settle for filling up on limits of the baby yellowtail. Thanks to skipper Bill Cavanaugh, subbing for Dustin, he was able to put us on some tuna that wanted to bite!
