It's like only today I really noticed that it's autumn, yes it's autumn and it's the first day of November. They say that with age comes wisdom. This month, in 24 days, I turn 66 and feel no wiser than I did 50 years ago. I'm probably broken. When I woke up this morning it was still dark outside, raining and windy. I opened the window wide and felt the wind on my face and the cold drops of rain. The leaves were spinning madly in a syncopated Dacian dance. I made a cup of tea and opened my laptop with the intention of playing a game of chess. I don't know exactly how long I've been listening to this cello wonder. It's like I'm floating and time has stopped for the first time in my life. My soul vibrates and my cheeks are wet even though I left the window a long time ago. Thank you!

My friend in the 90's was a student at the Royal Academy of Music. She was a cellist and it was then I really appreciated the mournful, soulful depths of this instrument in the hands of someone with a heart and soul. I miss you Elizabeth....Lost touch across the water but always remember the beautiful music that echoed through the halls of the hostel we lived at in Nottinghill Gate, London.
