I bought my homestead today. A lot of work to do but after searching for nealy 5 years...i finally found it. Bought in cash...took it from my 401K before that money dissappears. No mortgage! 6.5 acres with 2 homes and a barn .far away from view but within 20m of small town. Thats my retirement so i was thrilled i finally found it!!!

  • Sue has started her garden. We don’t have a big yard but she is doing good with the room she has. She has lettuce, cucumber, peas and green beans. Onions, tomatoes and green peppers. Also started strawberries. Herbs such as basil, oregano and rosemary. Chives.
  • I have no debt and I've been stocking up and saving as much as I can. Thank you for sharing, I appreciate it. Stay safe!

My flesh and my heart faileth: but God is the strength of my heart, and my portion for ever.” Psalm 73:26
  • I bought gallons of white vinegar, canning jars and lids, paper towels, napkins, and canned chicken.

My husband traded electrical work for a greenhouse. About to get chickens. Already have plum trees. Took advantage of Lowes mulch 5 for $10 deal. Started herbs, vegs and flowers a couple weeks. Id like to get in heavy with chickens. Then trying to make my own soap, detergent and etc.

I purchased a bottle of alcohol for tinctures, 3 live herb plants, 50 packs of seeds, 5 pound bag of rice, 5 containers of spices/herbs, another water bath canner, 4 dozen fertilized duck eggs, 6 chicks, and 75 pounds of fresh food to can!

Got 5 trees and 20 more coming. Bought 18 chickens and 4 ducks, got lots of seed starts going, but had several not germinate, so looking for plants to replace those. Working with NRC to try to buy a high tunnel and get irrigation and fencing on my property. I also bought a new bread machine (my 20 year old one finally pooped out!) And I freeze dried a bunch of leftovers. Not all purchases, but working on whatever I can to be ready for whatever comes. I lost my husband 9 months ago and I have to do this alone now, but nobody else is going to do it for me and I am not the kind of person to depend on someone else to take care of me. I am fortunate enough to have my dad and a few good friends nearby to help from time to time, but they have their own responsibilities to the care of. I am trying to be as self sufficient as possible and hope to someday even be off grid, or at least have my own infrastructure in place to do it of I have to. God bless!!

I live in Arizona (desert) so not really able to put anything in the ground. But have a few pots that I plant in. Really want to try potatoes. I can and freeze as much as I am able too. Turned a bedroom closet into my canned food pantry. Another bedroom closet has my buckets of extra goods and such. Using every space I can. Love your videos

The wife got me a freeze dryer a few Xmas's ago. Went hog wild with proteins and veggies, plus I got into canning around the same time. Have a ton of food. Stored water , metals, and projectiles after that. Think we're good 🤞🏻. Love your channel Colby. Switched to it for common sense content. So many pepper channels I used to live have turned to fear mongering and pushing their products 🙄

Well, I purchased it last week. I got 10 thighs because I like dark meat. They were $.99 a pound so it filled up two trays for the Freeze dryer. And then I bought roast for $3.49 a pound. And it was right at 2 1/2 pounds. So I cut it up for soup and it’s in the freezer. Please note it was 10% off on the chicken and the roast cause it was senior day, so it was even less than those prices I gave you. Then I made some 15 bean soup with the ham from Easter Sunday. And I have six servings of that two trays in the Freeze dryer and I will be packing them in the MRE Mylar bags for meals for later. So I have a total of five trays but only four was in the freezer because it was a medium not the new one. So it only holds four but I’ll come up with three more trays or something. And I’ll finish putting that 2nd tray of chicken in
