I had my last drink on Nov. 22, 1989 -- the day I began a 60-day sentence for my third DUI in 10 months. It was the worst day of my life -- but turned out to be one of the best as it started me down a road I wouldn't change for anything. I was 25 then. I'm 56 now and just celebrated 31 years of sobriety.

His dad gave him everything but an Uber

I feel stupid. Was literally waiting for the judge to throw a book at him.

It was midnite Oct 31, 1975 I was in an American Legion Bar. I turned my glass upside down and Doug the bartender asked, "another one, Joe?" No, I said and Doug that's my last drink, you'll never see me in here again. People around me heard what I said and they laughed. I left and never went back. That's the last alcoholic drink I ever had almost 46 years ago. Think of all the money I have saved instead of pissing it away.

I'll be looking at 33 years of sobriety on Jan. 1, 2020. It really was a wise decision for me.

THIS is what happens when you SPOIL your brat son.

Is prison the best place for his rehabilitation? No. Is prison the best place for him so the rest of us won't be killed by him some day? YES!

Nov 10th I'll be 17 yrs sober.. my kid turns 17 shortly after. You can't be a drunk and be a daddy. Best advice I ever got

It’s about time these REPEAT offenders do time.

Rules are different when you are a rich sob.

He got arrested 4 times for DWI. Just think how many times he'd been driving drunk without being caught. He belongs in prison.
-
Finally. A Judge actually sentences someone appropriately.
-
When has "son of a local jeweler" ever mattered in any context? Lmao
-
In Tennessee, everytime you are convicted of DUI/DWI your sentence gets worse and worse. Needs to be like that everywhere apparently.

I’ve been sober for 16 years and I can honestly say that I’ll never drink again . I’m guilty of driving while I was drinking and I thank God that I didn’t hurt an innocent person or family while doing so . Praise God that I don’t even have the urge to want to drink anymore .

He's living proof that justice can be brought

Come November 24th, I'll have 12 years under my belt for sobriety.

While I get that alcoholism is no joke (I am an alcoholic), and I won't blame him for falling off the wagon, there is no excuse for driving while drunk. That's one of the reasons I always drank at home after work TBH.

Four DUI's and no jail?! That's just plain unacceptable. I know people whose lives were turned to misery for one DUI. And one guy had pulled over because he knew he was too drunk to drive, so he stopped and tried to sleep it off. And this guy had 4 DUI's ?!!!

Affluenza at it's finest. Glad they're finally punishing him after nearly a dozen arrests.
