Dante Lyrics:

A war below that can’t be seen
fathoms deep, the mortal shell grows tired
Irrational or pre-determined destiny
Serenity, compulsion crossing wires

I hate the silent reminders of nothing but heartache
Who’s to decide what is right when your choice was cathartic
I can’t forget
What I regret
But I accept my punishment
I can’t forget
Our disconnect
The things that we love just hurt us in the end

These memories are transient
Could anything have really made a difference?
Could open arms change fractured minds?
Shatter forced perspectives?
Do you still slip through my fingers?

I hate the silent reminders of nothing but heartache
Who’s to decide what is right when your choice was cathartic
I can’t forget
What I regret
But I accept my punishment
I can’t forget
Our disconnect
The things that we love just hurt us in the end

I hate the silent reminders of heartache
I hate the silent reminders of heartache

I hate the silent reminders of nothing but heartache
Who’s to decide what is right when your choice was cathartic
I can’t forget
What I regret
But I accept my punishment
I can’t forget
Our disconnect
The things that we love just hurt us in the end

I hate the silent reminders of heartache
I hate the silence

Obsidian and Alien were so epic... Northlane are at the top of their game right now, and I expect this chapter to be no different ❤
  • @DEADPEDAL
Northlane are quickly creating their own subgenre and I am super here for it. What an iconic sound.
  • @iambedlam
I’m so happy that we’re in a place now where bands can make this kind of music. So fucking good, man.

“Dante is a song about losing someone close to us. As we try to process our grief, we are constantly asking ourselves questions, memories clouded with reminders of our loved one’s pain, wondering if there’s anything we could have done.”

I predict that this will be something we wont expect from northlane.
  • @Meefo__
that outro is beautiful. i’m so happy i get to exist at the same time as you guys
  • This really showcases Marcus' vocals, to be able to hit highs like that and also pull off the screams he does, what a gifted and skilled bloke. To me, this is almost like Sleepless and Clockwork had a baby. I am in love with this sound and I love the direction Northlane is taking with this. Bring on this EP. <3

I was waiting my whole life for a band like Northlane. We are insanely lucky to experience music like this.
  • @Apemano
This one will be like Echo Chamber. A bit more poppy, a bit more chorusy with lyric focus, but over time this will grow on you I think. Marcus really takes centre stage here. The drop is the vocals.

This new chapter of northlane is MASSIVE! And I’m so proud of them to keep forging on with the music they wanna make💙
  • @DrewFortune97
Was only re-visiting Obsidian yesterday and realising how amazing that album is. Still one of my favourite Metalcore records - can not wait to hear what’s next 💙
  • @Terminal_liminal
Dude...like...I didn't even realize this banger was almost 6 min long
  • Northlane is one of my favorite bands. Everything they create is ethereal and euphoric. I feel like I've been ascended into another dimension. Absolutely sick, you guys never fail to amaze me. Keep rocking it! 🤟🏻🖤

This kinda brings me back to the times of Mesmer/Node and I absolutely love that. Great single, can't wait for what you have in store for us hungry fans!
  • @KHA0TIC_NINJA
Northlane can do no wrong this next chapter will be fire 🔥
  • @gSWG3R
Yeah, Northlane own this genre, this is theirs. What an incredible song, that chorus is just euphoric. ❤
  • @Drewlinskii
Im getting Node (vocals) + post-Alien (instrumentals) vibes from this one. The chorus is HUGE and Marcus' voice is so incredibly beautiful on this track. I've always LOVED the softer songs like Weightless, Sleepless, and Node and the ending here gave me goosebumps. I already can't wait for the stripped down version of this song. :face-purple-crying:

Nic’s drumming carries this song. Fairly simple but fast and light. Shines through over the beeps and bloops.
