Hey guys, what’s happening? Niyat here with film comics explained, and as requested, in the lead-up to Halloween, today we’re finally doing a deep dive of 1979’s Alien.

Directed by the venerable Ridley Scott, the film is a harrowing odyssey into the abyss of deep space, unfurling a tale steeped in suspense and primal horror.

The narrative unfolds aboard the USCSS Nostromo, a commercial space tug returning to Earth, whose seven-member crew is inadvertently thrust into a nightmarish crucible of extraterrestrial terror.

The saga begins when the crew, nestled in hyper-sleep, is prematurely awakened by the ship's computer, Mother, in response to a cryptic transmission emanating from a distant, uncharted planetoid. Obligated by corporate decree to investigate potential signs of intelligent life, the crew, albeit reluctantly, descends upon the barren, windswept landscape, unwittingly setting the stage for an encounter with an entity as hostile as it is unknown.

This alien life form, a predator of unparalleled cunning and lethality, soon infiltrates the Nostromo, precipitating a desperate struggle for survival. As the crew grapples with the alien menace lurking within the ship's shadowy confines, they are also ensnared by the machinations of their employer, Weyland-Yutani, a corporation with sinister, undisclosed intentions concerning the alien organism.

The resulting conflict weaves a tense, atmospheric web of psychological and body horror, exploring themes of isolation, corporate malfeasance, and the inexorable, haunting fear of the unknown.

In this video we’re going to explore the story, the xenomorph, the characters and the amazing production of the film that launched one of my favourite franchises of all time.

It won Best Visual Effects. It made $200 million dollars at the box office. It put Sigourney Weaver on the map. It spawned 3 sequels, 2 spinoff films, 2 crossover films, toys, comic books, video games, graphic novels. Its been regarded as one of the scariest motion pictures ever made.

I really loved the first movie because they all acted competent and believable unlike 70% of horror films where the protagonists have the survival instincts of lemmings.

A masterpiece like 79 alien doesn't come around often enough. The writing, cast, design, atmosphere, music and effects all aligned perfectly like the planets and created one of the best horror movies ever

  • The xenomorph always seems scarier when theres just one when a whole hive should objectively be worse
  • @JiiWoon
The fact it was made in the 70’s is still insane to me , what a film!
  • What a movie!!!! It's that good, it can be watched 100 times and you'll still find things that'll enthrall you with it. Truly a SciFi masterpiece!

I've been listening to this channel for as long as I can remember; just casually when I see videos pop-up in my feed. What I love most, is the fact that this channel hasn't tried growing out of its audience. It has retained the same theme, and feeling it had years ago. Too often do I see channels trying to grow into things that lose me as a viewer.

One of my favorite behind the scenes things for this film is the chestburster scene, according to most sources the only cast member who knew exactly what was going on was John Hurt, so everyone else had a reaction like something was really going wrong when he started convulsing.

I'm one of the weird people who actually loves the first 45 mins or so of Alien. The landing on LV426 and the discovery of the derelict and space jockey. The visual and audio design are perfect and beautifully haunting
  • Back when I was a 7-year-old kid visiting my aunt, she let me watch her favorite movie Alien with her on HBO. Needless to say, as a small child, I was utterly traumatized by this movie. When I was a small child I did have some scary nightmares after seeing Alien at such a young age.

The spaceship looks so real, it's simplistic and efficient, like the set was built by engineers.

An exceptional essay, suggestive of contemplation and care, particularly in the delightful writing, and delivered at speed though with fidelity to clarity. Great job!

We really do need more movies like Alien in todays market. The way it was made, acted and everything was absolute peak.

I have been hooked to these Alien analysis videos lately. The movie just leaves so much in your imagination in certain areas, its super scary... And the fact that we are talking/analyzing this movie 40-50 years from its release, tells a lot how good it really is🔥
  • I never actually saw the deleted scene and extended version back then and, oh boy, these were so bone-chilling when I finally saw these
