It's refreshing to see Meg being treated like an actual main character and not just a punching bag for the rest of the family.

Lois telling Meg to turn away so she can surprise her with a Snapple was very wholesome. Lois has been characterized as someone with no hobbies outside of grocery shopping and other housewife and homemaker tasks. It makes it all the funnier when she snap(ple)s Also, Brian mentioned Dylan in this episode! He didn’t say much about him, but maybe that means Brian is keeping in touch with him?

This was definitely one of my favorite episodes in modern Family Guy. Lois is definitely at her very best in the show. I’m glad she started to care about Meg and I’m glad how Meg was treated in the episode. The jokes were hilarious, the story was amazing, and the characters were at they’re best. I do think the side plot was a bit weird but I’m glad Brian and Stewie care about each other. I’d say this a 10/10. It’s an amazing experience and I recommend it.

I actually loved that they didn't make one joke about Meg being fat or ugly or not stacking up to Lois. Lois wants to prove she's fun to Meg instead of just dismissing meg's opinion. The episode was just ok I don't think I laughed more than twice and both were toward the beginning but it was really nice to see them just lay off Meg at least for one episode.
  • This is how you make a strong female character without stupid girlboss crap - Lois was way more sympathetic in this one, and I loved seeing Meg as more 'normal' as wel
  • This is the Lois & Meg dynamic I miss. Them actually acting like a mother and a daughter that love each other and are there to support them. It’s taken many seasons and years to get to this point but it’s finally here. This is true character development. When at your lowest you can only go up from here to have a change of heart

Meg is my favourite character. I was always able to relate to her growing up and so I wanted for her to have a better life. She's great.

Is it so surprising that you can still have a funny story without having characters acting like the worst version of themselves?

For the Bad Moms video, Beth Smith is definitely up there. She brings her alcoholic and toxic father around her kids despite all advice to the contrary, is herself an alcoholic who openly regrets having kids, and, oh yeah, didn't hesitate for a second when she was told to decide which of her kids would die. She may not be the worst, but she's definitely earned a high spot on the list.

While she isn't a biological mother, Shadow Weaver from She Ra and the Princesses of Power definitely belongs on a list of worst animated mothers. It's saying something when she mentally and emotionally abused her favorite adopted child/protege, and verbally, emotionally, physically abused, and tortured her least favorite protege

Meg Griffin has deserved better for a long time and this turn of events better stick. If the ending Kenny bit can be retired, if Homer can stop strangling Bart, then Meg can be treated like a human being. There's no way that Lois can be considered a good Mom at this point but if this sticks, it'll give her more opportunities to be good to not just Meg but all of her kids. As for your Worst Moms video, I gotta call out Miriam Pataki. I'm aware that she's an alcoholic and addiction can be a monster that destroys everything but she's done deep damage to both of her daughters, mainly Helga. After her, the Worst Mom I can think of is Mrs.Turner. I wish she had a name because I hate associating the word Mom to her. The whole basis of Timmy getting fairies was because his parents were too self absorbed to be there for him properly and them letting Vicky torture him is absolutely unforgivable.

This is like the best Lois has been in over 20 years, it's crazy. I really hope they keep this up where Lois and Meg have an actual positive relationship with one another that feels like a mother and daughter like in the earlier seasons instead of feeling like they genuinely hate eachother.
  • @shewolfcub3
I really loved the idea of Lois using all the things she bought against the kidnappers, it was pretty clever and one of the best parts of this episode
  • Miriam Pataki could be an honorable mention. She was always drunk on the show but she did have a few moments where she bonded with Helga and got her life together briefly. Anyway I’m glad they have tried to improve the relationship between Lois and Meg on FG!

I want season 22 to have a detailed episode where Brian is forced to reflect on his actions of the previous seasons and how he was good person initially. If this happens, I think season 22 will be one of the best Family Guy seasons created

Its pretty cute seeing Meg being happy, this episode was wholesome.
  • @princessaur
Beatrice Horseman and Bloberta Puppington both deserve to be on that list.

I love how Lois protects meg during the entire time they got kidnap. It was such an amazing and wholesome moment rarely seen between the mother and daughter! I liked this episode!

meg being the punching bag always bugged me, and when she finally stood up for herself only to take it back made it was the worst episode, I love when meg isn't the punching bag, and instead, someone with actual character, afterall, the fact she was ONLY a punching bag was lazy writing
