Joan certainly owns this song. One of the best renditions of Kris Kristofferson's beautiful poetry.

While I'm loathe to say that anything can't be topped, I daresay this is the definitive version of this song: an incredible voice, superb musicians, intimate surroundings and what I'm coming to think is one of the finest songs ever written. Just not sure than it can get any better than this.

I have never seen anybody perform a song as well as this, pure feeling, absolutely breathtaking.

Man, sometimes I forget how incredibly this woman sings. Then I stumble across something like this with her.

Joan Osborn does "Please Don't Tell Me How The Story Ends" the best I ever heard. Takes me back to a sad time in my life. He left.

Joan Osborne has a loving gentle voice that causes this song to to echo in your mind and stay there! đź¤

2022 , have listened to countless versions. This is the best I've heard. Thanks.

loss for words....jaw dropped.....Only Joan could make this song sound so alive.

Best interpretation of this beautiful love song written by Kris Kristofferson. Lovers really don't want to know how the story ends.

This performance shows why simple songs are so often near perfection. I admire Joan because she has sung what she wanted to sing rather than what she was told to sing. Try to find her version of Raglan Road she does with the cheiftains. Another perfect performance.

The poetry of Kristofferson when sung by an intelligent and insightful singer really is something sublime

This may be our last good night together We may never pass this way again. Just let me enjoy it 'til it's over, or forever Please don't tell me how the story ends. See the way our shadows come together Softer than your fingers on my skin Someday these may be all we remember of each other Please don't tell me how the story ends. Never's just the echo of forever Lonesome as a love that might have been. Let me go on lovin' and believin' 'til it's over Please don't tell me how the story ends.Â

An undiscovered gem, and another reason to appreciate the sublime aspects of 'simple' country music.

Joan rips my heart out with this song.

Her voice the fiddle and the slide... fantastic !!!
-
Just heard her for the first time accompanying Iris Dement. They are both wonderful artists. What have I been missing! Never heard this song done as good - fabulous is not a fitting adjective for this beauty.

Another Artist That Wont Let Em' Put A Label On Her And Her Music YOU GO JOAN!!!!

Such a wonderful singer. My brother sent me a video of her appearing at the Opry, and, I'm ashamed to say that I hadn't heard of her before. My loss. A brilliant singer. 🪕🎤🎶👍Gerry Farry.

My mother, the only one that would love to hear a whole album like this

I never knew Joan Osborne was such a great country singer, this is as good as anything by Patsy Cline.
