Jameis Winston Takes It To The Tigers | ACC Football Classic

Published 2022-07-11
On October 20th, 2013 a game billed as the game of the year, and possibly the best regular-season matchup in ACC history, occurred when No. 5 Florida State traveled to Clemson to take on the No. 3 Tigers. Florida State was led by freshman sensation Jameis Winston who was eyeing a Heisman Trophy. Clemson was led by reigning ACC Player of the Year Tajh Boyd and his weapons, Sammy Watkins, Martavis Bryant and a young Mike Williams. Winston started off on the right foot with a touchdown pass to Kelvin Benjamin on his very first pass and didn't look back on his way to 444 yards passing, 3 passing scores and a touchdown run. 2013 FSU was so good they demolished Clemson in Death Valley AND it was a game where Flannigan was the head official. Even he had no answer how to screw FSU on this night.

That was the game where I started thinking this is FSU’s year. To go into Clemson’s house, make a sandwich and throw the cheese wrapper on their floor like they did was crazy.
  • This game pretty much symbolized FSU has a national tittle favorite 💯
  • Gawd these uniforms are so much better. This logo is better too. We need to change back.

This performance by Joyner has to be considered a top 10 all-time by an FSU defender. If not for this game, FSU is not in position to win the BCS trophy that year. Season & career-defining performance. Its honestly underappreciated

Benjamin, Ramsey, Freeman, sammie watkins, telvin smith, Darby, humphries, winston, lamarcus joyner, grady jarret, vic beasley, mike williams and so many many more! all these guys became famous, rich and now some are gone Incredible year of talent rashad greene did not amount to much in nfl but he was winstons best receiver

Why is these Sportscasters only talking about Clemson so much.... They both were Rooting for Auburn in the title game

Clemson PA plays Hells Bells and Ozzy down 24 to 7 at the 2nd Quarter end - that's Bold
  • Total beatdown of a very, very good team in their place.

Prime example of when a coach tells you to come out and punch them in the mouth. What an amazing team
  • Would be so epic to see this years FSU vs the 2022-23 Georigia Bulldogs. It would be physical AF lol.

Jimbo was an average coach. Pruitt was the reason FSU won a NC, this team, especially the defense was stacked. Coker, the back up QB, transfered later to Bama and HE won a NC with the Tide.
  • This was the day we were supposed to break the Guinness World Record "Loudest Crowd Roar at a Sports Stadium" 😬
