No on the flag pole. Flags in the urns look festive and great. Definitely less is more in this situation.
  • Small, meaningful touches. Unless flags are lit at night, they’re supposed to be taken inside. The joy of celebrating becomes another ‘have to’ job. You do you, Linda.
  • @nedda2000
I like those smaller flags and the Americana bows. They're perfect touches. One idea is to attach red, white, and blue swags from your wrought iron porch railing. I vote no big flag -- too much.
  • The Veronica you brought from your last house could be “First Memory”. Thank you for sharing your glorious garden !😊
  • No flag poles. What you have out for the holiday is all you need.
  • Small flags for a cottage garden….good idea. Wow, your grass also looks great !
  • Attach a flag to your "fake door" side of your cottage. That way it's not overwhelming your front porch area, but you can see it from the side street, as well as, at your 4 way stop in front of the cottage. Visitors could enjoy it, too, walking to your backyard. It could, also, be swapped out seasonally, if you so choose.
  • No flag pole! Most people don't respect the care they require.
  • I’m with you Linda. I also go for the “cottage garden” style, and every year I choose small flags in the two pots filled with geraniums flanking my front door. I think it’s just perfect and not too much for my style of home and garden.
  • @GrandmaSandy
Thanks for sharing your beautiful cottage with us. It was beautiful your plans for gorgeous and you did a wonderful job on your video. Thanks so much for sharing my dear friend.
  • I love seeing a big flag displayed but it is work as should be lit at night and I think if it is raining it should be taken inside. I love how you have the cottage decorated with your small flags and bows. Safe travels!
  • @GrandmaSandy
I love the black eyed Susans they just give so much color to the garden and I’m trying to build a cottage garden also but I like a lot of variety of but I also like plants that don’t take a lot of care and can handle our hot summers here in Southern, California, black-eyed Susans come back every year. They’re doing great in my garden.
  • Yes, I would keep all of the flags right where they are! You must be busy enough getting ready for your trip to Scotland. I have been busy working quite a bit out in the garden and today removed a large stone before I could go on installing. Will certainly get help from our landscaping service mulching. Thanks, for showing all of the drought tolerant plants in your garden that have grown well.
  • Linda we love all of your videos. I try to go back and like the videos.
  • Great Tips. I have incorporated some of the plants listed in my garden....but now I have more to add.
