this is so interesting to watch, there was a point in time where i was literally obsessed with finding the perfect DTLA loft. The best priced one i lived in was Texere Plaza lofts, closer to USC. 5 years ago i was paying 1500 for like 600 sq ft studio. I checked out all the spots in the arts district but couldn't afford them so i got desperate and started looking into living in illegal loft spaces IE ones that were only zoned for commercial. I found some really sketchy situations, actually ended up living in one building for online one night b/c i found mold and got out of there as soon as i could, that said it was $1500 for like 3000 sq ft which was amazing in terms of size. I applied to live in the brewery but got denied, that spot is amazing as well. The coolest loft i ended up living in was in the peterson tansey building. Nice community, everyone's basically an artist. Anyway good luck with the hunt, its wild to see how much the prices have come up since 2016 but im not really surprised. Now im in the valley and have traded in the loft dreams for a simpler neighborhood vibe

Definitely not Santa Fe lofts. I was harassed by a homeless person in their freaking hallway and we can’t get out of our lease bec police won’t give us police report because I wasn’t hurt. Leasing office won’t provide security guard. The next day someone followed me to our apartment, we told them that they just have to let us go without paying penalty. They agreed and we moved to 8th and grand which is the best apartment! Smaller but everything is new. Lots of amenities and SECURITY IS A MUST if you want to live in downtown. Everything is fob operated so no trespassers. Also Santa Fe is the building where they had a hostage taking because again there is no security whatsoever.

this was so calming to watch for some reason, i love ur vids 😭💞💞
  • Loved how you explained the pros and cons of each building. 👍🥰
  • As someone who lives in the SB buildings- run far far away! Trust your gut. There’s been 3 new owners in the past 2 years and it’s been a complete nightmare.
  • Im not planning on moving to LA but this was so interesting! The apartments in LA are so unique at times.
  • this is a very good thumbnail, what made click was the outfit and the skewed perspective, very artsy, good luck twinelle
  • I appreciate your honesty. Your video was an education. Good Luck With Everything!!!😊😮😊
  • I have a one bedroom bungalow on the beach in Long Beach. I pay 1350$ a month. So lucky!!
  • @psivy5942
I love those last two especially the bathrooms and kitchens 🤩

That’s honestly insane how expensive all of them were. I live Australia in a really nice neighbourhood and we’re paying the same rent as these apartments but for a massive 3 bedroom house with a big yard. Obviously the prices are different cause of the area and country but those prices for me makes it not worth it. But good luck ;)

Goodluck finding your dream apartment ✨
  • @jsmith5509
Yes! Please do a tour of your current apartment ! Thanks !

You should look into the little Tokyo lofts! My friend lives there and it’s really nice interior, gated and covered parking and only two blocks from little Tokyo! It does border skid row but we’ve never had problems walking by.
  • @sweetagain
Of course the nice ones had a bad leasing office!! That's so frustrating! I thought Maxfield & Garment Lofts were the best options out of what you showed. Santee was so cute but I need natural light and I couldn't do it either if I was you 😩
