What a nightmare. I can't imagine the shore excursions with 9,000 people pouring into the destination.

It is completely unclear to me why people want to go on a sea voyage and then reside in a shopping mall / hotel lobby / entertainment center.

Sailed on Wonder of the Seas in June 2023 on a 7-night cruise. My wife and I stayed in an Oceanview Balcony cabin near the middle of the ship on the starboard side. Our fare was about $1800 each; we also paid around $240 for the Wi-Fi package for both of us. We only ate in the complimentary restaurants. We did excursions at 2 of the 4 ports we went to for around $200 total. The gratuity charge for the cabin was about $230. I purchased, on average, 3 alcoholic beverages per day (all cocktails); costing $45-50/day (wife doesn’t drink). We purchased coffee at Starbucks 3-4 times and each did an acupuncture session….that was fricken expensive. The grand total was about $5500. That does not include the drive down to Port Canaveral from near DC and back (rented a Suburban, as there were 6 of us) and hotel room the night prior to the cruise.

A few years ago I did cruise on one of these big cruise ships the oasis of the seas. We felt like cattle the whole time the boat was overcrowded at every venue especially embarkation. Going forward we decided never to cruise on a ship that has more than 3000 passengers.

I think you should really double check your information before you post. At one point, you said the icon of the seas has a height of 1,198 feet. There’s no way that it’s that tall. I’m guessing you meant the length was 1,198 feet, but there was a little arrow on the graphic, showing up and down next to the ship, when you said height. Also, you said cruise tickets cost anywhere from $25,000-$1 million. On what planet? I’ve taken some fantastic cruises and none of them has cost me over five grand (one came close and that was a 12 day cruise). And I think the average price of a cruise somewhere around $3000-$3500 with an all inclusive package

I would never go on one of these floating monstrosities. I dread the thought of paying big bucks to be on an island with thousands of people I don't know or like and not being able to escape.
  • @jerereremy
Height and length are different things. You know that, right?

Wow! The things you NEVER think about. Morgues on cruise liners. Yup. Needed, but hopefully, never used. Thanks for the video.
  • I worked on a Cruise ship for 14 yrs and I know how it feels. Some of the narration is exaggerated but working onboard is really an experience that you can be proud of. I really miss it but there is a limit to work onboard and all I can say is Love and Enjoy the Experience.

There's alot of incorrect facts here ranging from costs to height of ships. Entertaining, but the facts were not verifiable.
