Unforgivable to put ads in the middle of this masterpiece.

Dark Psychedelia at its finest This song wasn't about love and flowers It's about loss and devastation

Perhaps the most haunting, disturbing, terrifying song ever recorded. And it is absolutely brilliant, pure genius!!
  • When I was in Vietnam 67-68 we played this song for our Lt and he completely freaked out. He underwent a total transformation about his military career and stopped bucking for body counts and wouldn't send us out as bait for battles. Actually this song saved our lives. Thanks Jim. I'll love ya forever.

2 years ago, at 4am.. The night my Mother passed away, I woke up to this song, blasting at max volume over a big Bluetooth Speaker and tablet that had never been synced to the speaker, nor had I played anything over the speaker in weeks... I've never been so damn scared in my life, but as I layed in bed listening to the words and balling my eyes out, the most peaceful feeling ever came over me, only then could I get up and turn it off.. Ill never forget it.. RIP Margaret Mary, I know that was you... I Love You Mama, My only friend....🖤🇮🇪☘💚

A timeless and ageless song. A psychedelic classic that still gives you goosebumps today after decades. Great band and great unforgettable Jim

One of the greatest songs ever written by one of the greatest bands ever, the Doors!!!!
  • i accidentally fell asleep and woke up in the middle of the night while this was playing. I have never heard of The Doors, but i think they're my new favourite band.

I saw the Doors when they played this live in the whiskey a go go in 1967! I was 25 years old at the time. I even had a smoke with Jim Morrison after the gig. Man those were the days! Jim and me have remained friends

  • One day in June of 2006, my Dad and I were driving and listening to music (we both love The Doors), and he put one of his cassettes in and said, I want you to listen to this. He played this song for me for the first time ever. We listened to the whole song, and when it was done playing, he looked me in the eyes and told me specifically, "I want this song played at the end of my funeral". This hit me strangely, since my Dad never spoke about stuff like that, but I promised to honor his wish, and I made sure to log this in my memory for later. Unfortunately, later would come very soon, as I would lose my Dad to a sudden illness about 2 weeks after that very day in 2006. I was just 18 years old at the time. I kept my promise, and over the speakers loudly, at the very end, The End was played as we all cried and hugged one another. This song will forever hold a special place for me.

We train young men to drop fire on people, but their commanders won't allow them to write "FUCK" on their airplane because it's obscene! - Col. Walter E. Kurtz from Apocalypse Now
  • I’m smoking some bud listening to this song and watching as the world burns and just waiting for it all to come crashing down. Peace to my fellow stoners love you all

This is one of greatest, most haunting, most sinister, most powerful rock songs ever. Lyrical disturbing, musically a masterpiece. Utterly timeless. Written 1967 it still packs one of Hell of a punch in 2020. Viva La Doors! The ultimate rock combo! The Lizard King is dead, long live the Lizard King.
  • It's like Jim was trying to hypnotize you the whole song and then when he's got you, he smacks you over the head. It's fucking intense.

My father taught me good music. I was born in 79 and this is perfection..
