Definitely every woman should aim to be financially independent. When it comes to Promise, the two of you just have different priorities & that's ok. As you said every woman has their own non-negotiables. She has said that she can tolerate cheating & that provision is the most important thing to HER. So she won't stay with a man who doesn't provide. You on the other hand you don't tolerate cheating & will leave but you were able to tolerate a broke man for years & you were the (sole) provider at some point. I have come to the conclusion that a woman will leave her marriage when she has made up her mind and it has nothing to do with her having or not having money or whatever other reason one may come up with. It does not mean she is not aware that she is burning, but the heat is still bearable for her there will be a time where the heat will be too mich for her to handle.
