By the way, I bought one of those PVC syringe guns that have a motorcycle grip on the end and it was amazing. So quick to reload, awesome aiming ability, and no other gun can compete with it. Cost me 200 baht.

Just experienced my first Songkran - in a fairly quit Soi with beer bars, restaurants & of course massage shops. Lots of families joining in - very friendly & fun days. The normal tap or hose water is not too bad, but them buckets full of iced water - wow they can make you jump.

Happy Songkran to you Chuck & Paige, along with your extended families and friends! Iam a first generation Chinese American living in Southern California. Will be visiting Thailand for the first time in October; plan to stay for a month. Do not want the tourist experience; just learn the "lay of the land" and assimilate into the Thai culture, food and customs.
