My very first ride along in EMT school, I will NEVER forget the purpose of EPI. A man was shot (clipped his left ventricle) by the swat team. Military doc hopped on the medic and explained everything so thoroughly to me as we knew this guy wasn’t going to survive. Even did a chest tube in the back of the medic. THAT made me realize this was the career for me.

A little clarification. You mentioned Epi 1:10000 (1mg/10ml) IM injection for Allergic Reactions. The correct concentration for IM Epi is 1:1000 (1mg/1ml). Great video though. Keep it up.

Why is it recommended that epipens are injected in the upper leg and not the arm? I know it has to do with muscle but like you said in the video, you can give it either way since there’s muscle in both places. I use an Auvi-Q and when I was trained on the device, it was made very clear to do the leg and no where else.
