The Mercedes Benz EQE is a luxurious electric SUV and is approximately the same size as the Model Y. The problem is the EQE costs $27,000 more than the Model Y so I explain who will want this over the model Y and what each of them does best.

Man, I love the subtle sense of humor that you have in your videos man. Got me cracking up nearly every video haha!

Fair review. Ultimately, Tesla is only interested in mass market adoption, so MB and the rest of the luxury OEMs will continue selling in their own niche segments. Tesla is really going after Toyota and VW who are top car producers. I had a new fully loaded MB before I switched to my MYP and don't regret a thing. To each their own.

I currently drive the EQE sedan. Took my first road trip to Pittsburgh on one charge. The car had a range of 361 mile of true range. But the charging at Electrify America sucks.
  • @snowatom
Tesla Model Y became my choice cause of price, space and features - not comfort. I agree with the comparison. I enjoy my Tesla, but is in no way a perfect car. But the price makes it a great car 👍 - until the Danish car tax are rolled back in full, then it’s bye bye electric cars. And back to small cars. As we pay almost double the price of a car with our insane car taxes, that’s put on hold right now, due to focus on environment 😉
  • @siddharthassinha
After watching your reviews, I did test drive both and agreed with you and surprisingly I was considering the same and ended with EQE as Model Y can be compared with EQB.

Just picked up my M3-LR and the suspension is so soft and handles amazing. My wife's 2021 model Y however is a harsh ride.
  • @RyoshiKuraOka
When you add in $1,300 for the rear wheel steering (which you noted as a good feature), and $1,500 for the winter package to get heated steering wheel and rear seat comparable to the Y, and $450 for the HEPA filter comparable to the Y, with the tax credit your up to $38,000 more (75% more). For the additional $38,000 you could buy a Model 3 Long Range (out of inventory) along with the Model Y.
  • @shrekvt
You skip over the obvious conclusion: it costs $20k more because it costs more for the added features. That's not worth it to me.
  • @ChargeToDrive
I picked up my 2023 model Y long range two weeks ago, the day before I picked up my Tesla I went out and test drove the EQE 350+ SUV. My wife currently drives the 2022 GLB AMG and I have owned 5 different Mercedes in the past years. The EQE looks big when you first see it but when you get in it's very tight, the cargo is smaller compared to Tesla as well as the interior volume, seats are rock hard as always with German cars and the infotainment system is all over the place and not very intuitive. Driving comfort is very similar, I drove them back to back they are both amazing. 2023 Tesla model Y drives and handles much better, the acceleration is much smoother and responsive, if both were at $50k I still pick the Tesla model Y. I strongly recommend anyone in the market drive both before you make your decision.

In the first 30-seconds loved the comment about managers owning us all day at work. Truth spoken from a place of ultimate freedom that being self-employed provides.
  • @gregb7353
Love the reactions to cars over the shoulder. The problem with the EQE is within 500 miles of me the cheapest one on a lot is $91k which is 2x what I can get a Model Y for after the rebates. 100% agree that one of the biggest misses for Tesla is ambient lighting and the need for suspension options.
  • @usmcsaxoki
Hey man, you haven't experienced luxury until you've driven and owned a 2013 Chevy Volt. The definitive definition of luxury.
  • @guerro327
Have you reviewed a Cadillac Lyriq yet? Would love to hear your thoughts on that one.
  • @vasil7410
The fact that the EQE can even be compared to a Model Y only goes to demonstrate how good value Tesla really is. In Australia, the base model Model Y costs around A$70,000 on road. The EQE costs A$140,000 on road. It's a no brainer.
  • @stewarttate
Completely agree with you; good review. Both cars were on our list; I like the luxury interior, fit-n-finish, quality, and smooth ride. That said, the charging network is a problem. I didn't know Tesla was making a deal with MB :-). The range and charging speed are significant issues, making the price-to-value ratio off for an EV beta 0.8 release. Does Tesla need to pay attention? Yes. Will MB get these issues corrected and have a serious winner? I think the writing is on the wall. Please keep making these comparisons; they are beneficial.

😂😂😂 the roast at the beginning of the video was hilarious
  • @gdc6852
How's the adaptive cruise control, compared to tesla which I love and can't do without?!
  • @CryptoNut82
I like the EQE outside looks but not inside. Having no autopilot is a dealbreaker then add having crap charge network while costing 50% more than a Y. Let’s talk in 2 years when other manufacturers start installing NACS on their cars, until then there is no question what I would choose
  • @5croobius
That like comparing an In-n-Out double-double to a White Castle chicken ring slider.
