Amazon warehouses' employee turnover rates.. Are you surprised?

Amazon's warehouse turnover rate has reached 170%.. A GOOD turnover rate is about 10%, which depends on the industry and other factors. But a turnover rate that high would definitely create reason for concern.

What do you think the problem is? Why does Amazon have such a high employee turnover rate? What are other companies doing that Amazon could learn from?

I agree. Some of us work 12 hrs a day 6 days a week. What's wrong with an extra break or music to help with depression from being bored?

I quit working for them last night. Working for that company is not worth it. I dont even order anything from them.

If we at a job that stands 12hrs plus let us sit to regain energy if there’s downtime at the job and let us get back to work when there’s work why is that a problem
  • @BrotherBrown.
Treat the workers the same way you yourself would like to be treated. Give them more freedom, whether it be an earbud in one ear or letting them have an extra 5 on their break, because otherwise they will come to hate you & leave.

When i started on amazon, we were 6 new hires, after six moths, out of those 6, I’m the only one left, i mean it’s crazy here.
  • I worked in a place like this, covid running rampant. Stuff catching on fire, a worker almost burned alive 50 ft in the air, Dude got drug tested then fired, faulty wiring design.

Everywhere is toxic!!! Toxic people are Everywhere.💯🙈🙊🙉
  • What very few realize is that this isn’t just negligence by them. This is exactly what they want. If nobody stays, you never have to even think about giving them pay raises.

I have known 6 people who have worked for Amazon warehouses around here over the last 10 years. They all quit within 6 months or so. Bosses are jerks and the work is very physically demanding they said. I hear on the radio driving almost every day that Amazon is hiring all positions, all shifts and drivers. Turnover here in Central Ohio for Amazon is crazy high too.

I worked at a Transport Truck Spring Factory. Team Leaders were coming and going like crazy. One Team Leader was upset with an employee. The employee said something like "I Don't care what you're saying. You won't even be working here by next week" and he wasn't.
  • I think the issue is its mind numbing work. Its incredibly boring/repetitive and depending what your tasked to do very isolating, for as many people that work there and in the building it can at times feel like your the only one there its quite a unique experience from any job I've had before.

Yes,coming from a laid back work environment(still toxic) would much rather have no music and more pay...then with music and less pay. Work is not supposed to be fun. You can always have a sense of humor and make the best of the situation

I've worked 120 hours a week in warehouse for over a decade. Git me out of poverty, student loans, debt, provided for my kids, a home, transportation. So for the people that complains about work, life balance. Pick one?! Work or life for there is no such thing as balance. Oh work too much, need to get a life. Oh not enough hours, don't get paid enough. Just pick one or the other! Can't be both
  • Play music they need to change some rules and we had the best Site Leader at our warehouse Fred we need him back with us
