Forget The Navy Seals, The Marine Corps, we have a dog here who could claim the title for being the toughest, most athletic and most fearless and driven dog in the world – Meet The Belgium Malinois – The Ultimate Super Soldier. Anneka meets James of Wolfstan Kennels and witnesses a mock raid on a terrorist cell which includes abseiling with dogs, multiple take downs and taking a hostage from a kidnapper.

My neighbor has a Malinois. She's extremely smart and overall a lovely dog. But if I see how much effort my neighbor puts in to physically but also mentally train her ... that's not a dog for me even if I were unemployed.
  • Had my malinois 3 years now, was in the military so new the breed. Please don't buy one of these dogs if your not prepared to exercise them for at least 2 hours a day. These dogs are one of the only breeds left that heve not been messed around with, purely because they were only bred for working. But I have noticed over the years they are getting more popular, And are now being left at dog rescue centre's, because amateur breeders are breeding them, And selling them to people for pets. They are not indoor pets , They need something to do. Think twice and do your research, if your prepared to put the work in , you will have the cleverest most loyal friend you can imagine, these dogs will protect you with there lives, they are fantastic.

They are German Shepherds on speed! A breed that needs lots of mental and physical exercise.

I have a friend who trains Belgian Malis, and one day he went out, they got out of the house and he came home to find all three on his roof. 😂

Don't get one if you're not working the dog. Actually i can't recommend them for any person who "just want a dog".

I grew up with 4 Belgian Malinois. They were used as guard dogs at my dads company, but were so sweet to me as a little girl. I could take them on walks, learn them new tricks... I loved hanging out with them and playing around. It’s an amazing dogbreed, but definitely for the experienced dog owner. Raise them right and you’ll have a wonderfull dog!
  • Maybe I could rent one for a week to trim all the low hanging tree branches on my property???
  • @FBIMOUS377
Haha "Go catch the stick" Climbs tree and gets his own stick XD
  • These dogs are insane. I have one. He's incredible, but trust me. Don't get one if you don't have the time. They will wreck your house if you don't give them the time they need, daily.

I'm starting to see a pattern. Each dog breed Anneka meets is her favourite :D

These dogs are definitely one of the most versatile and amazing breeds! It’s like their brains are sponges just waiting to soak up the next challenging command to learn!
  • Please please please don't buy one as a pet. Popularity is worst that can happen to this wonderful breed.
  • Man, I'm so grateful that we as humans have this strong longtime companionship with dogs. They do so much for us, work hard for us, comfort us, and do anything to please us. We are so lucky to have them around.
  • My son works with SF, when he’s in a mock building playing the bad guy , he says when the malinois sent in , he’d rather be face to face with al quada, than the Malinois

These dogs were brilliant in John Wick 3...a good example of them flexing their amazing capabilities!

I had an amazing MAL 7 years ago. He was unbelievable and I loved him dearly. I was constantly training and working with him as my job and still, I was not even able to tire him completly. I am very fit, super active, sportive and extremely disciplined person. People always asked me how it was to own a Malinois and till this day, my answer is ALWAYS the same one: -''It was a full time job '', people would laugh at my answer, and I would look at them directly saying: -'' Yeah ... not a joke my friend. MY dog is my full time job, FOR REAL''. I would then, explain the work and stimulation that he needs EVERYDAY. 5 years after my Mal passed away, I was on the search to adopt an other Malinois. I went to visit many amazing breeders in different states for over a year and a half. Slowly, I came to realized that my lifestyle has changed and my work was different. I was not sure I would be able to keep up with this breed for an other 15 years. I am still hyper active, Uber disciplined but i dont have the time anymore to have a working dog sharing my life, plus i know too much. I know what they need and how you have to stimulate them. I am now, the happy owner of a perfect dog to fit my present needs. He is something else let me tell you, and I dont even have to mentioned how perfectly mannered he is in every situation. He is umbelivable. I get comments on his behaviours on the daily. Lets just say that, even though he is from a otherkind of breed, he has been trained the MALNOIS way, and he is tired for sure at the end of the day. He is probably the dog in the best shape of our neighbourhood lol There is not ONE week since i adopted him that is passing without me thinking: -''Man it would of been a big mistake for me to adopt a Malinois now''. PLEASE, trust me people: you dont want a Malinois. And you certainly dont want a Malinois as a pet. They are more than what you think you can handle. This is coming from someone who actually shared her life with one.

These dog's could possible be IMHO the smartest dog breed in the world. Never seen a dog balance while walking a glass of water on his nose. Agility and abilities are amazing.
