The dude that dropped these first 70 first seconds is a pure genius. You have all what s strange about aliens with the synth, dentist drill, reverberation, weird sounds, and you have that touch of human legacy with the electric guitar that will remind you of the Terrans... Perfect fit when you know what happened to Kerrigan.

Fenix: This is a betrayal most foul, Kerrigan. We were fools to have gone along with this charade. Kerrigan: You're right Fenix. I used you to get the job done, and you played along just like I knew you would. You Protoss are all so headstrong and predictable. You're your own worst enemies. Fenix: That's ironic. I can remember Tassadar teaching you a very similar lesson on Char. Kerrigan: I took that lesson to heart, Praetor. Now, are you ready to die a second time? Fenix: The Khala awaits me, Kerrigan, and although I am prepared to face my destiny, You'll not find me easy prey. Kerrigan: Then that shall be your epitaph.

the great thing about SC1 music is it defines the difference between the moods of SC2 and SC1 There was no happiness in starcraft back then, and the music reflected it, giving a hardcore feeling of tension and strife

This is probably my favourite of all zerg soundtracks... the beginning alone gives me goosebumps >:)
  • The music from 0:00 -0:55 gives you feeling of being part of a Terran unit landing in a forsaken desert wasteland infested by Zerg.

Infected Samir Duran: My queen, the hive structures are not responding to the cerebrate's command! There is no way to reinforce your warriors! Kerrigan: Cerebrate your gonna have to make due with the warriors you have, slaughter the dissident Zerg in my name.

I would love to read about the composer's notes / feelings about this track.

He died, because you betrayed him. How many more noble souls do you need to consume before you're satisfied? How many more people need to die before you realize what you've become?

This song always gives me the chills/creeps. I remember playing the Zerg Campaign in Brood War for the first time, and how awesome this track was during the first mission. Ah, the good old days. How I miss them :)
  • The opening notes are a good way to not only make the zerg scarier than before but also to make anyone who's finished the first game feel sorry for them after the overmind's death.

"Is there a problem?" "I like your style, friend." "But I think you're getting a little too familiar." "I don't believe we've met." "I am Duran. ... Who are you?" "I told you my name. It's Duran, Duran!" "What's so funny?" "Please, please! Tell me now." "Is there something I should know?"

Man this brings back these really good feelings from within, like please take me back 10-15 years! I loved all the races, maps.

This track is even more unsettling than the previous 4 and really underlines the hollowness and tragedy of Kerrigan's BW campaign.
  • This is just pure Brood War euphoria, and this is coming from a Terran main.

That feeling when you're a zerg and you're surrounded by one Dominion terran, another Earth terran, and a protoss.
