Here's 30 seconds of chopping a small log with a Dogfather 10 inch knife made by Scrapyard knife company. My camera only takes 30 second video clips, but it only took a few more chops to make it through the piece. The wood is hemlock... not the hardest stuff around, but not the softest, either!

Thanx for a close-up, chopping, with a SR101 bladed knife, alot of larger knives, sort of bounce around on hard wood, this just ate the wood up, I luv my Swamp Rat's, especially my new one tool carry, my Rodent 7, the lightning bolt handle shape is extremely comfortable, I also have the Rodent Solution, my all time, one of my favorites, the Ratmandu, and the Rodent 9, I always wanted a good 6" blade, and I have a few, my Bark River Bravo 1.5, S.R.K., my Bokor Rold, my Bokor Vox Collection 2011, a Benchmade #156, in D2, and a fella on YouTube made me a custom, a Cryo 3V blade, pretty good, but they are not Swamp Rats, I wanted a Swamp Rat in a 6" blade, because I luv the Deferentially Tempered 52100 steel, tough stuff, excellent, excellent Cliff, the Rodent 6, was just too military looking for me, so I asked Trissy, what a great lady, if they could cut the upper hand gaurd off, and they can, for a minimal price, not bad, now my Rodent 6 will look more like a Ratmandu on steriods, kewl beanz, and I also pulled the trigger on a Rodent Rucki, but I also asked Trissy, if I can have the Rodent Waki tip, instead of the sharper Rucki, again she obliged, kewl beanz again, this was so nice to see a SR101 chop close up, by the way, my Busse Knives, are within a 1/2" of my Swamp Rats, without the Rucki size, but anyhow, Thanx alot for doing this kind of video, a close-up chop.

one glove??? I suppose if you caught your hand with one of those chops, it wouldn't really matter if you had a glove on. Awesome knife...thanks for sharing.

The Dogfather like many of Scrapyard's knives starts with the steel S7. This steel will not take as fine an edge as some others or hold it as long: it is aimed mainly at very high impact resistance. You can be confident that the knife will not chip, bend or crack even under extreme conditions. It is very easy to sharpen and also responds well to reshaping on a butcher's steel. If you want a knife to build shelters, split wood and dismantle the odd car with, this is it. If you want a scalpel...no
  • @generalsaam Convex means bows outward. you just sharpen like any other knife.
  • @generalsaam
Wait, it's a convex edge? How do you sharpen it? Using a strop?
