Elijah is leaving for TWO YEARS to serve as a missionary in Japan and our last few days with him were bitter sweet. We spent them helping him pack and getting in our last few hang outs. And when the day finally arrived to send him off at the airport, there wasn't a dry eye in the place.

We have an Amazon store! It's a great place to check out all the gear we use and recommend! www.amazon.com/shop/knorppandsouth

Weird to feel emotional for a family I have never met and who live on the other side of the planet :) All the best new adventures to you all!

I am the youngest of 10 kids and I was the one that was always left behind as I watched each of my brothers and sisters walk out the front door as they started their new lives. I then had the task of taking care of my parents in their final years and I watched them as they left for the last time. Watching this today brought on so many emotions. Thanks for sharing....

I didn’t even make it through the family photos 😭 This was so emotional for me to watch! The heart is so interesting because you can literally care for people you’ve never met a day in your life. I’m so proud of Elijah and send the rest of you guys so much love!!! Thanks for being so transparent and sharing this special moment with us 💓

I'm only a few minutes in but Pearl's reaction to the mask was priceless!

I thought I would make it through fine but then Jude hit me right where it feels. Hugs to all of you.
  • I’m watching this two years later and I know he is safely back and in college. I still cried also like it was my son!
  • Fascinating to see everyone's reactions to Elijah's leaving. I was sobbing even reading the title. Clearly this is what Elijah wants to do and it's where he wants to go. But how hard for Jude and Megan. xx
  • This couple is so fun to watch together. They both crack me up. What a lovely family.
  • I laughed so hard at Pearls reaction to the mask and cried even harder when Megan teared up at the airport. You both have done an amazing job at raising a wonderful caring and compassionate young man. Love to you all x

Lordy, I’m crying! 😭😭😭😭😭 Brings back memories of the day my 18 yr old son shipped off to S. Korea for 1 year at the Army DMZ ZONE. For the first time in his life, I had no control. My hands could not reach him. I learned that my JESUS’ hands could! I grew immensely in my faith in God’s power. I always knew when he was in danger, trouble or down. I sent the Holy Spirit to go in my place. My son grew in his faith, as he experienced the miracles of God many times. God’s protection kept him.

I just sent my daughter to the MTC last Wednesday. She’s headed to California. I cried right along with you. Greatest elation and joy and heartbreak. Strangest emotion. Our family loves following your family. Our 9 year old cried so much because she couldn’t bare the thought of not seeing her big sissy. She did remind me it was just 18 months, so it wouldn’t be long.🥴. She hugs me the most.

Wooow!! This was difficult to watch. Jude broke my heart because he was so sad. What an amazing time for you all. Thanks for sharing with us. Very beautiful moments in time.

As soon as Megan hugged him and started crying that is when I started bawling my eyes
  • What a beautifully raised family. Your grief will soften as the time goes by and nearer to Elijah’s return. You must be so very proud of him. Take solace from the blessing that your lovely clever firstborn is going to touch many people’s souls. All will be well. 💜💙
  • I cried like a baby... especially when Jude was crying like he was...
