The T rex animatronics are always so impressive. Rexy, Buck, and even the Universal Rex. All are so awesome. But the Baby Rex was Stan Winston's miracle

“A chihuahua was one of the sounds used for the indoraptor” Yeah I believe it.

I'd like to mention something: The Rexy animatronic lost a tooth during the scene where she attacks the kids in the car. Every Rexy animatronic since has had that same tooth missing.

I’m not sure if this is already a thing, but Universal should really incorporate Jurassic Park into its horror nights somehow. Maybe they could bring back the more terrifying version of the interactive encounter with the Spinosaurus.

Just imagine where the Trex animatronic is nowadays? Possibly just sitting in a warehouse collecting dust, what a terrible fate!

I used to work at the traveling Jurassic World exhibition. As an animatronic-enthusiast, I ALWAYS had the urge to touch the animatronics. However I did get a chance to get into the raptor puppet suits which weighed a TON. Props to the puppeteers.

Also, The scene where Rexy broke the glass window was actually not supposed to be in it but the animatronic malfunctioned and broke the glass roof
  • Have you guys heard of the Jurassic Park Institute Tour? It was a museum/walk-through attraction that was in Japan and South Korea for a few years. Based on the videos I’ve seen on Youtube, it was pretty neat, and a source of inspiration for yours truly! Edit: Did you see the new Indominus rex animatronic in Jurassic World the Ride? It’s quite impressive!

Jurassic Park and Animatronics? * fastest click in the west *
  • Rexy and the Indoraptor where ever my favorites since i saw them in the movies for the first time. Seeing how her scenes and the scenes from the indoraptor got created really impress me. I must say, Universal did really good work at this.
  • practical effects are so cool. When mixed with visual affects they really bring dinosaurs to life. wish more movies would use practical effects

I never knew they used animatronics for fallen kingdom! I’m so happy the art is not lost on these movies.

Those animatronics are amazing! I hope they preserve all of them in a deplay or something in the future

Hey you covered the Dinos we built for the Exhibition! I work at Creature Technology Co and I designed the structures of several of those dinos for the first Jurassic World Exhibition, including the Brachy, Parasaurolophus, T-Rex track and probably a whole bunch of other work that I've forgotten about. Just a slight correction though - we didn't build the creatures for the Live Show - they were built by Animax, and you can see a slightly different approach to the design and build of animatronics between ours and Animax creations if you stare at them long enough :)

Holy. Mind blown. I thought Blue in Fallen Kingdom looked real, but her movements were so realistic and lifelike that I thought there’s no way an animatronic would be able to pull that off, she must be CGI. To learn that actually was an animatronic makes the whole thing so much better.
  • The reason I always love these movies and enjoying watching these movies are the uses of practical effects in these movies are spectacular. Sure the first Jurassic World movie only have one animatronic. But thankfully Fallen Kingdom has alot uses of animatronic and practical effects and I love it. Say what you want about Fallen Kingdom despite it's flaws, but you can't deny how impressive the uses of animatronic dinosaurs in that movie. My personal favourites are the Trex animatronic when Owen and Claire try not to wake the animal and get her blood to heal Blue. And my another favourite of mine, it has to be Blue The Velociraptor animatronic when the characters are removing the bullet that got stuck inside Blue body. That scene is my favourite because it really reminds me so much of the animatronic for the Baby T Rex in The Lost World Jurassic Park. Also you can see emotion between Blue and Owen in that scene when Blue is still hurt after got shot by one of the mercenaries.
  • I am actually really happy I watched this because the entire reason I gave up on the Jurassic world franchise was its lack of animatronics. So I never watched any of the other ones except for the first. I didn't realize that they changed how they were working. I'm very glad they did
