The accuracy needed to dig blind under the earth from 2 different directions and meeting in the middle with a requirement that both tunnels must not be off by just a few millimeters is incredible.
  • My Uncle owns Rhodes Industries, the company that deigned the conveyor belts to remove the soil and rock back to the British side of the Channel Tunnel. Legend!

After the phone company building was turned 90° in 1930, in 1987 in Romania a 7600 tons apartment building with all the people still inside was moved 55 meters (180ft) away to make space for a boulevard. Using a similar system of rails and hydraulics. Amazing!

We now have trains under water and boats floating in waterways over highways... I wonder what the ancient engineers would think. Amazing!
  • Japan actually knows how to build a city with highways and optimize ALL the space even in the sky

The innovation people have is fascinating! It’s one thing to learn how cities are built and another to know how impressive infrastructure are built.
  • Thanks for spending the time to create and share this content 🤙🏾

I’ve installed over 17 miles of fiber optic cables and maintained them as other contractors yank them out accidentally or cut them during the installation of THEIR project. You have to go to a four month course to learn to repair the fibers individually so that there is >0.004% data transmission loss. Each repair takes forty minutes and requires perfect precision and steady hands. Then when you’re done if the data lost is too great…back you go (and you don’t get paid for the second repair)
  • Wow. I hope pictures and paintings of Venice are being preserved so we can ALL enjoy the sights of Venice gor generations to come. I always wanted to visit venice but that won't happen.

My dad is a gen superintendent for a heavy construction company. It’s fascinating to see how things are built. He’s built bridges, light rail systems, freeways…
  • 11:25 now most people would think Venice sinking unwater would be sad but I think it would be cool cause it still can be a tourist attraction because when it completely underwater you could go diving
  • I had never heard of a water bridge or for that matter a water wheel before....those are truly AMAZING!!!!

Wow! Mind-boggling and very informative. More of this kind of vlog, please. Love it. Awesome 👍 👍👍
  • Where on Earth do you start?? All of these were absolutely fabulous! I was aware of Internet cables under the sea but Not how insanely Long they were 😮 The building with the road through it but not touching was brilliant and bonkers! The building in the last part of the tunnel in 48 hours through the main road above amazing and I'm gobsmacked at the Scottish canal boat lift which I first learnt about on here previously. And yes we measure electricity use via the kettle and the cuppas it produces in the UK 😉😂 Awesome educational and highly entertaining videos as ever, cheers me dear 😊💖

9:00 THIS is actually a brilliant example of compromise. It sounds crazy but both parties got exactly what they wanted and the results are pretty awesome to see!
