The grandfather who carved into his retirement money to buy tickets to support his grandson's comedy is the man I strive to become.

That lady was flawless. How good do you have to be as an interviewer that everybody notices you. Well done.
  • This interviewer knows her job, she's amazing. Go Matt, you're a good soul <3
  • Can we acknowledge how great SHE was? She probed deeper and didn’t let it stay surface. Really enjoyed this. 🥳🥳
  • @brandoutmusic
This reporter is amazing, asked the right questions in the right way to get the most genuine and open response from Matt!

Everyone once in a while youtube throws me an absolute gem. I've never heard of Matt Rife before but I'm for sure going to remember him after this interview. Also how refreshing is it to have a great interviewer like Rosemarie Miller. She's genuinely interested and listening to what he has to say and asking relevant questions. Those are some real folks right here.
  • Matt’s wisdom and maturity is shocking for his age. The sky is the limit for this young man. He could be one of the greats.

What a great interviewer! She was keeping up and so supportive, and asked questions at the perfect time- incredible!
  • Wow an interviewer who actually lets the interviewee speak and finish their sentences. It’s refreshing and I am now a new fan of hers too. ❤❤❤
  • “The competitiveness is all ego.” That is such a gem right there

Wow this guys isnt just funny but his humility is amazing, its great that he is learning under a great comic like Dave Chapelle. Hope he gets to achieve and keep success in his journey.

They complimented each other very well. So well that each one has been given their share of positive feedback in the comments. They both showed up with wanting this interview to be honest and fun. So I’ll say kudos to both of them for talking like you were 2 besties. There’s ton of gold in this interview.

"Be okay with silence". There have been many minutes in his stand up where he was speaking sincerely to his audience. You could hear a pin drop it was so dead silent. He was talking about his OG Grandfather, and also anxiety, depression, and mental wellness. He had me on the verge of tears. It was so so great. That means he hooked his audience, and the millions of people who watched and rewatched it online. He is a natural. When he does the crowd work, it's like he's talking with his very good friends. So comfortable. He has confidence, not cockiness. I love everything he's done. He has earned all of the accolades he is getting. His success just exploaded in this past year. I'm rooting for him.

Great interview! He's so generous with the pearls of wisdom he's received from the giants that came before him too - very uncommon amongst young artists these days, where they like to 'protect their energy'. Wish this dude all the success in the world. He deserves it!

It takes an amazing interviewer to get the best out of the guest. Amazing job done!
  • This is one of the best interviews that I’ve seen with Matt, who was flawless as usual. The lady did an excellent job, asking intelligent and interesting questions, nothing about his looks or who he’s dating or anything about his private life. I saw him on GMA or some talk show a while back, and the first thing the female host said was how cute he was, Christ! We get it the guy is attractive, but he is also a brilliant comedian. How about we concentrate on his body of work not just his physical body.
  • @ifelthope100
I love that he's able to point that power of perception at himself. So few people are self aware
