Unlike many bloggers in Asia, Simon Lee does not live a glitzy, luxurious life. Lee chooses not to have a home or a job, and says his situation is a source of happiness. For the past seven years, the 52-year-old had been sleeping rough in Hong Kong’s Victoria Park not far from the upscale Causeway Bay shopping district. He is unmarried and has cut off all ties with his family, spending his days writing his blog in public libraries.

"I'm happy being alone, i don't need to depend on others for emotional support." The highest peak of freedom a person can be.

I hope he is safe during this covid 19 outbreak

Perhaps he is houseless rather than homeless, his home seems to be within. An admirable trait. I wish him well during this time
  • Pro-tip- Sikh temples exist in countries all over the world and all offer free food. All they ask in return is that you show them respect by following two of their rules- cover your head and remove your shoes. Temples usually have spare extra head covers, so don’t let a lack of one stop you. They are happy to feed anyone, from the religiously curious to people struggling to make ends meet. No preaching, no attempts to covert you, nothing but kindness and compassion and hot food.

So he's like a modern day Diogenes? That's cool.

I'm jealous, I've been homeless before and I understand a glimmer of what he's talking about. It's impossible to feel shame or misery when you discover the things those feelings are based on are empty of any real permanent and important nature.

It takes courage to cut off all ties and not care what society thinks. I give him credit for living his best life as he sees fit.

Shoutout to the loyal bunny keeping him accompanied while sleeping >.<

He got nothing to lose. Hence he's free.

He's not homeless. This man is at peace with himself. Something extremely few are truly able to attain in this world.

What I like about him is that he doesn't have to struggle to pay the rent. That doesn't means being poor, it means being free
  • @2prize

We're born alone, we live alone, we die alone. Only through our love and friendship can we create the illusion for the moment that we're not alone. - Orsen Welles.

2:00 I'm so proud of the Sikh Temple. During COVID-19, many of them have stayed open to provide food to local communities. It's great to see this happening all over the world.
