What Happened to Sly & The Family Stone?

Fantastic, groundbreaking band…play them almost everyday.. Time For Livin, Everybody is a star! Two of my favourite songs of all time..

Back in the 70s, there was one thing that everybody could agree on: Sly Stone was baaad, and that was good. It didn't matter what crowd you hung out with, all you had to do was put on a Sly and the Family Stone record, and any room would transform into an instant party. They were the great uniters, musically and socially.

Sly and the family stone were awesome and an inspiration to many artists wish they would have put out more music

Family Affair is my favorite Sly & the Family Stone song.

I'm surprised that the video didn't address the thing that led to the group's demise more than anything else. Sly wouldn't appear for concert dates. During the early 70's, he did have a lot of successful recordings, but he wouldn't show up for his concert appearances, which led to riots at concert halls and arenas. And if he did appear, he would only play briefly and then walk off stage. This was what ruined his musical career, because once his records stopped selling, he was unable to get bookings because he had been blacklisted by concert promoters. A terrible shame because his band was one of the best performing ones ever.

There will never be a band like the family stone again.. they made life enjoyable!! In hard times!! Love that band!! Like a brother said..I played my lps the other day!! Awesome..

Wrong again. The original title of " There's a riot goin' on" was supposed to be "Africa talks to you". However it was renamed "There's a riot goin' on" as an answer to Marvin Gaye's album "What's going on".
