Hello from Texas! I always get asked questions, or more often, simply receive comments, about autism... So I decided to clear it up!

"Autistic people don't have feelings" Cut to me, a twenty-three year old autistic man, uncontrollably crying after seeing my best friends sonogram for the first time. It's not even my kid but Jesus, I was a mess!

I’m a medical student and you’ve taught me far more about autism than my degree, hopefully I’ll provide better care to autistic patients as a doctor because of you xx

I was thinking about being more open about being autistic, but this has convinced me that I shouldn't, or at least I should be really careful about it. A coworker recently overheard me talking to another autistic guy, and he heard me say I was autistic, and he got awkward after that. And I don't blame the people, but there's just such a huge societal misconception of what autism is, that I can't know what people are actually going to be hearing when I say "I'm autistic", and it kind of horrifies me thinking of all the possibilities of what kinds of impressions they might form of me just from that simple statement. Thank you so much for being an ambassador, but I'm just not ready for that myself.

I had an autistic friend in high school who was literally one of the most popular people in the whole school. Everyone loved him!

You only have 8.6k subscribers but your energy makes it seem like you have 8 million. Keep it up! :)

Responding to your response to the first question, I am a man who only discovered that I am autistic because I learned how it manifests in women, which for one reason or another is how it manifests in me.

One of our neighbours didn't allow her son to play with my brother because my brother is autistic and she didn't want her son to get infected... I have been thinking about it for 3 years now and i still don't have any words for it

"Because this is more than enough of my face for one day." I beg to differ!! your joy is so infectious, there's no such thing as enough of that, the world needs more. :'D

I’m a woman that was diagnosed with Aspergers at age 31 and also have C-PTSD and anxiety, but before I found out that I am on the spectrum I was misdiagnosed with a few things like Schizoaffective disorder and even considered at risk of developing Schizophrenia, I think it’s good that female autism is getting more attention now and this can help many girls find out earlier and not find out later in life.

When you talked about the eye sparkle/ superpower in us you just made me cry so much! I'm a 27 year old still struggling with my career (have no finished training in anything until now) and everything. But you're right, I have it in me, it's just a question of finding it and then bringing it into the world confidently. <3
  • I was officially diagnosed with Autism via an Autism specialist a couple of years ago (I'm now 40 AFAB) Around 5 years before this I was assessed by the local "mental health" department and they said I couldn't be Autistic, because I was "able to make eye contact" (by my early thirties, undiagnosed, I have "shockingly", many learned behaviours, that go against my instincts and preferences) and I "do have friends" (despite my difficulty with making friends and limited social circle). Pretty sickening that this was the beliefs of actual medical professionals not so long ago (and maybe still is? I have moved away from the area).
  • Thank you for making this video! There are so many misconceptions of what we as Aspies are, and it is refreshing to see someone like you who defys stereotypes. I hope that I do the same in my community. Thanks!
  • I had a friendship with a girl who would hit me on the head constantly with a book. I thought that was normal. I was also 'friends' with a group of neighborhood kids, they would crack jokes at my expense and play pranks on me. I honestly thought that was normal. I did understand that I was bullied by the marching band kids, but I didn't get why that made my parents so upset because while it did upset me to some extent, it meant that I had an excuse to hide in the library all afternoon, which was my favorite place.
  • You are such little a ball of sunshine you make me smile omg. I'm binge watching your vids😂 I don't have autism but you are literally a ball of happiness it's amazing!
  • @jellybob4569
I don't think we need to cure autism because us autistics have eye sparkles
  • @Charly691
Hi! I am visually impaired with autism and other disabilities! This video definitely speaks for me!
  • @CezzyHaag
Why is it so much fun to see people being angry?
  • Here's my advice for neurotypicals: "Don't make assumptions. Make improvements."
  • I love these videos so much! I always felt so odd for being on the spectrum but your vids have made me feel more normal💛
