Jay, We Canadians have winters. Cars have radiators. Radiator fluid handles -40C to 120C. Radiator fluid is a mixture of water and anti-freeze. Anti-freeze is coloured. And the anti-freeze water mixture does not corrode the radiator, hoses pump or others. Have you considered using anti-freeze.

I ran a water/ CLR mix in my loop to clean it. Flushed with 2 gallons of distilled water, ran system prep through it, and that worked really well. Refilled the loop added the biocide and all is good.

I run automotive coolant with an AMSOIL coolant additive, works great with no problems.
