We get it. "You don't solve anything with violence." It's Spider-Man. It's not funny to be the 75th comment to point this out.

Officially considered 'lost' by the Lost Media Wiki (until now), here's a tape I've had for about 15 years. Because it's an educational Spider-Man cartoon, it was only distributed to schools and libraries. I worked at a library while we were transitioning to DVDs and Blu-rays, so I brought home some of the stuff that was headed for the dumpster. Unfortunately, this is only one tape of a set of four, and we never had the others.

  • "you don't solve anything with violence" Peter I watched you beat the shit out of green goblin in 3 separate universes.

The truly sad part is, There were probably plenty of kids who saw this, realized what went on at home wasn’t right, and still told nobody.
  • How superheroes deal with child abuse: Spider-Man: "Here is the number of the child abuse hotline." Superman: Gives stern but powerful lecture about how violence must not be committed in front of the child as that will further the abuse. Batman: "That's bone number 37. Do you still believe I won't break every last one?"

Spider-Man: "No Timmy, you don't solve anything with violence." ...Said the literal crime-fighter.
  • i love how Spider-Man just casually watches a child get abused by her father
  • "You don't solve anything with violence" beats otto so bad his body quits working
  • @crimson5pider
I love how the kids just casually have Spider-man over to discuss this like they have him on speed dial
  • Had Wolverine been in this special instead of Spidey, Maria probably wouldn't have a dad anymore.
  • @Reptileman1990
Jake forgot to mention verbal abuse. Words do hurt people.
  • @RonMotta1972
The dad just drank like five beers and still goes to work.
  • @FlipFlop_OFC.
Spider-Man: You don’t solve anything with violence Also Spider-Man: solved all his problems with violence

For everyone joking about "you don't solve anything with violence", this was made for real life educational purposes to aid children possibly suffering from abuse. In real life Spiderman isn't going to come through the window and beat the shit out of the abuser. Sometimes young children need a colorful cartoon character to get a point across to them. There was a Superman comic where Superman saves a little boy from his abusive father who locked him in the basment and even in that in universe comic Superman didn't mercilessy beat the shit out of the day

Its beautiful that lost media can be found but sad that some will never return
  • You see, Bully Maguire would just beat the shit out of Maria's dad and that's why he's the best.

I think the main reason Spider-Man didn't do anything when he saw the girl getting abused was to show kids that when you're in an abusive situation, you can't rely on a superhero to swoop in and save you. However, Spider-Man totally would and should have gotten involved because it would show kids that there is at least someone who can help you.

Violence doesn't solve anything Batman: and I took that personally
  • Spiderman fights the sinister 6 but yet "violence doesn't solve anything" okay Spidey
  • Watch as the “Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man” completely ignores a kid being abused.
