How to Take Down the Impaler | Helldivers 2

These are just my picks for dealing with the Impaler. I don't go over all the stratagem weapons because something like the laser cannon is just not great.

Let me know what stratagem weapons y'all find useful in taking down this new bug. We got a lot of good choices, I like how this seems like a team effort to bring down given how annoying the claws can be.

Just to be clear my top picks: grenade launcher, spear, autocannon and hmg.

    Nothing really stood out to me today as a true meta...Spear was great alongside 500kgs and Orbital Precision strikes. But yeah this thing is painful up close. I normally run heavy armor and got ragdolled into infinity before my chonky boi could react

    If I remember correctly the Railgun takes 3 shots in unsafe mode to strip their leg armor and u can do it from range, so not too bad

    The Tentacles really brought back memories of that Half Life Boss, and of course with that Terran BGM, freaking Zerg Base Defense Building or Lurkers lol.

    Two thing i want to note is the tentacles are light armor and have no stagger resistance making the punisher shotgun good against tentacles to both prevent it from attacking and takes only 2-3 shots. The second thing is the spear heavily staggers the impaler and stops its attack and retracts all tentacles. I don't know if recoiless and its equivalents can do the same as I haven't used them against it.

    I found the slugger and hev machine gun pretty good, it allows you to kill it without explosions, and it’s pretty amo efficient with it taking around 25 slugs and 20 hmg rounds, although it depends on your fighting tactics, I like to get close and personal useing the slugger and my bear hands to stun them. the hmg to get the alpha brood commanders and it’s pretty good especially when your 1 shoting slashers 2 shoting warriors, hive guards, and alpha warriors, then taking 10 slugs to kill a ALPHA brood commander 8 to the head and 2 to the legs, AND THE SLUGER COMPLETELY STOPS BILE SPEWERS!!! The supply pack is required for my build. Also you can just beat the daylights out of warriors slashers and scavengers. I also use the medic perc to be invisible longer so I can crouch down in a horde and mow down them with perfect accuracy.

    To evade those tenticles is easy. But to reaload spear or any other weapon to get it is almost imposible. (few minutes ago i had this mf and bile titan on me (bile was badly damaged so it couldnt spit) but to get from their reach was pain in the a

    What about when it spawns and you're nowhere near it then you just get ragdolled continuously?
