The Stone Tower - Lynn Woods Reservation - MA - DJI Mavic 2 Zoom drone & Osmo Action

Published 2022-04-25
What can you see from the Stone Tower?

The Stone Tower was constructed in 1936 as a fire tower and is 14.5 meters tall (48') and located on Burrel Hill in Lynn, Massachusetts. Lynn Woods Reservation is the 2nd largest municipal park in the United States with nearly 900 hectares of forest...and I only just found out about it from Ryan McMahon's video (link below). Many people were surprised that the tower was open, so I guess it was my lucky day. Bicycles are prohibited between January 1st and April 15th. It offers 360-degree views that include the Atlantic Ocean and the Boston skyline. It is possible to obtain LAANC approval to fly your drone up to 100' AGL at the tower. I was hoping to obtain some footage of the Steel Tower (located within the same park), but was unable to locate it.

Kudos to Ryan McMahon:    • Stone Tower, Lynn Woods

This place goes back a long way with me. My father was from Lynn. He would take my brother and I there on Sunday mornings I remember being there when I was 3 years old in the top floor. Nice work on the edits and the dramatic music location.

Nate, your editing is getting to a new level! Excellent production, mate! Shots, effects, music are top class! 🙂👍⭐

First time viewer here. I must say that is some swell editing mate! Freaky cool tower you’ve found there. The davinci logo was spot on as well as the window frames all key framed and beaming up with light 👍. #lowbudgetproduction 😁. Nice to jump on here and see that mavic zoom action. I felt as if it were the climax of good thriller movie. I wish I were home watching on the big scree
  • G'day Nate, very impressive! Really enjoyed the ending....but not because it WAS the ending 😉 Such an interesting structure. Great video, as always ✔️👏👏

Well Nate, once again you have hit the mark. From a low budget reveal to a DaVinci Resolve logo this video kept us all guessing. I like the fact you mad a couple of cameo performances from the top of the tower and even managed to save the environment by taking your bike in with the dog on the handle bars 😆. That’s a really cool structure mate and I’m pretty sure you certainly did it justice in this clip. The sun is so much more appealing than the snow and in a few more weeks you guys will all be in your boardies and heading to the coastline once again. Nice work on the compiling all the clips together with the tunes mate it was a great clip. Only a phone watch for me tonight but I’m picking it will need the tv tomorrow to do it justice. 🏰🏰🏰🏰🏰

Beautiful production Nate! 👌 I loved your fantastic editing on the D.R. and all the details applied, it turned out really well.👏👏👏 The tower is also awesome! Have a great day 🍻

Wow this place is awesome. Would love to shoot this! Great vfx and sfx as always. Love the DVR planar tracker. Always a winner :)
  • Awesome production, Nate. l love the variety of shots of this interesting tower as well as the dynamic editing. Excellent inclusion of special effects and great dolly zoom at 3:01. Perfect climax towards the end. Nice hidden shout outs (who is it at 0:42 and 0:59?). Well done, Nate.🤘👌 Ah, it is our friend Dronesco at 0:42

Wow! This is really tense. It’s incredible what you made out of this location and still relatively dry woods. I loved the barking dog sounds, particularly when they come at the first time. It was such a driving edit. Only the Davinci logo drew me a bit out of the experience for a second. But maybe I am just jealous of your tracking skills. 😂 One of my favorite videos! 👍
  • @AERIALPHOTO123
Yeah I noticed does the dolly zoom too. I might try that on some of the video made today at Quincy but since I don't have a real zoom I'd need to do the zooming in post and render at 1080p

Since you were in my neighborhood, you should have looked me up I'm only about 3.1 mi from this location
  • @HoukWeAreOne
Hi Nate. Low budget production hahahahah. I like it. Who's there on the tower (1:00min)? Well done Nate.
  • A very cool and well edited production Nate - Sorry I've been MIA - Been travelling :) I managed to pick out the DaVinchi Logo - I saw the other ones but hard to pick out until I saw the tags in your description. This was a very fast moving one, did you speed that up in post ?
  • @AERIALPHOTO123
Very dramatic Nate. If you scroll way down in my library of YouTube crap you'll find my movie that it made about 3 years ago at this site.
