🎬Archaeopteryx-Lightest Sailplane In The World🎬
It is Archaeopteryx or Archaeopteryx glider, takes name from the ancient first Dinosaur bird. Archaeopteryx is single seat and the lightest sailplane in the world.
The Archaeopteryx can take off and land almost anywhere just like a hang glider but it flies like a conventional sailplane.

This is like a childhood fantasy come true. I’ve always imagined being able to fly on my own. Having something like this and the space/environment to use it is freedom.
  • @T.W.I.T.
he said "when flying, landing may be the most important factor" understatement of the century...
  • @Nicky_Nacky_Nooo
Nice to see they picked an easy to remember and easy to spell name for it.
  • That looks like it's too much fun for a person to have! Yet, I can't stop thinking how exciting it must be to be able to fly with almost no power but the wind and thermal currents.

PLEASE STOP using robot voices. They are killing every freaking video with the dead voice sound
  • @PktJack
@1:27 the video is backwards lol! No way the guy lined that up like that! hahaha! cool plane though!

If you want to excite people, get a person to read your script. AI sucks.
  • How much? No doubt shockingly expensive, well beyond the budget of 99% of us watching this! This craft was invented back in the late 80' to early 90s by an aeronautical engineer. I remember watching him demonstrate it, self launching like a bird, with his own two feet. Genius. He designed and built it himself with carbon fiber. It made such an impact on me, seeing a self launch plane that could glide effortlessly, I never forgot it. Looks like they finally put his idea into actual production. What attracted me was, with plans, you could build one yourself affordably.

The narration is generated from an artificial intelligence source. You’ll find more and more of this. It’s rather cringeworthy to listen to but it gets the job done.

Fred Flinstone would be proud of the foot launch😂

After a commercial like that you could AT LEAST give an estimate price.
  • @Dogsnark
I want one! This looks so fun.
  • If this were to become more affordable we would need far fewer highways. It’s absolutely brilliant.
  • You can buy a very nice, safe, 4 seat plane for this price, but very cool and looks fun.
  • Hi, thanks for sharing this video I've been looking for ever about the archaeopteryx until I saw it this morning on you tube, thank you!!!

The whole thing is made of foam. If you get bored up there you can start breaking bits off the cockpit and scrunching the foam in to tiny pieces using only your bare hands, very satisfying and relaxing.
