as always, roomie is the most american european person ever when it comes to eurovision lmao
  • @Iam0pti
As always, Roomie seems to side with the jury, which also hates the "joke" songs. Norway and Moldova were top contenders based on the popular votes lol

Eurovision isn’t always about “Nice melody, good production, good voice.”…It’s about having fun too, stage presence, staging and having a great time! I think that’s a thing that’s lacking in these reviews, eurovision isn’t like any other singing contest.

This video is proof that music professionals lean towards pop and mainstream and fail to recognise indie (serbia) or folk (moldova) unless it's presented in a cool or sophisticated package (ukraine or portugal). This is why juries in esc also need to be more diverse and not just pop singer songwriters, pop producers and pop radio hosts.

What I learnt about Eurovision is that the performance counts just as much as the song. So it doesn’t matter how good the song, if your performance is not up to scratch then you won’t win.

I completely disagreed with almost everything they said lol.. as a Eurovision fan, this hurt 😅

reminder folks: songs don’t have to have a special meaning or to be a ballad to be good, it’s all about the vibe
  • I actually really like Norway's song. It throws away the idea that good music must have an impactful message or be unique. The focus is just on creating a good vibe in the audience and having fun - which they did very well.

The cutest thing about the UK was like when they cheered "We got points, we got points" every time they received points from the jury. The song of Ukraine also deserved it's spot in my opinion (even though I'm kinda disappointed, you cut of the best part with the flut thingy :( ) And Moldova was of course just Eurovision being Eurovision xD

sorry but this is eurovision- and you can't have eurovision without joke songs. i LOVE give that wolf a banana and its genuinely so catchy.
  • You say Norway didn't do that well, but they came 10th out of 40 other countries. That's pretty good if you ask me. Also if you had chosen to listen to more than the beginning of Greece's song you would know that it builds a lot, and isn't as boring as you think.
  • Man you cannot really react to Eurovision like this. Like, I understand listening to 25 songs to their completion is a long task but there is so much that you're missing, like Greece's buildup, Spain's dance break and high notes, like only watching the first half of a song is just not enough to truly appreciate them for what they are. If you keep doing reacts like this it will defo discourage me from watching further videos of yours on Eurovision. I'll still probably watch other stuff of yours but this is something I cannot ignore
  • Serbia was so interesting though, and the message was good. Eurovision isn't only about "oh, nice melody". It's also a bit about experimentation, humour, politics, the theatrics of it all. Basically, it's not only about whether or not you'll put this song on your playlist.
  • About Lithuania's song and the fact that it feels French, well this is the only thing with a french vibe that we got this year since we decided to go the opposite and have a Celtic rave in Brittany. So yeah, it was the first time there was no French in the contest for a long time! (I'm still mad about the ratings btw. It didn't deserve to be so low and my opinion will never change.)
  • All I've learned from watching Roomie's Eurovision reactions is that he hates artists having fun or enjoying themselves. Music doesn't have to be serious. Especially when the whole point of Eurovison is expression. Completely crapping on every entry that tries to be unique, fun, break the mold, or be true and embrace culture isn't just stupid, it's also ignorant.
  • @julisamay
Every time Joel reacts to Eurovision songs I'm always reminded of how different his taste in music is compared to my own lmao
  • @delta8475
This is why we love you roomie, horrible taste in eurovision🥰
  • Just saying, you were so insanely wrong on Moldova, that song was fire
  • @yurio7008
Love how he calls almost all of the ''pop'' songs boring, yet calls the songs that are not mainstream ''pop'' to quirky 💀
  • It's so sad seeing a lot of people missing the message in Serbia's song... It's art at its finest, not some flashy joke as some may see it. It has a deeper meaning than the article they read presented. Such a shame...
