So for anyone who's wondering, the film is about these 2 best friends who are complete opposite from one another named Sophie(blond one) and Agatha(brunette obvs) from a village called Gavaldon. For the last 200 years in their village, children have been disappearing every 4 years and every 4 years, 2 children are magically kidnapped on the 11th day of the 11th month at midnight. One seemingly Good and one seemingly Evil. Every four years, villagers try to stop the kidnappings to no avail and fail miserably. This time it's Sophie and Agatha that are being kidnapped. And yes, the bird(called a stymph) is the one that will fly them to the School for Good and Evil. Only the children who have been kidnapped have seen the schools. In the School for Good and Evil, students learn to become fairy tale heroes and villains(or as sidekicks if they graduate with low grades). Imagine all the famous fairy tale characters that we ever know. Cinderella, Rapunzel, Captain Hook, Ursula and ALL, I mean ALL fairy tale characters that we've ever read. They were all once students in The School for Good and Evil before they all graduated and made their way into their own fairy tales. That's the premise of the story. All students at The School for Good and Evil all come from a fairy tale family or line, either a famous or obscure one except for the children from Gavaldon who are the only students that are non magical. The twist here is that seemingly good princess archetype Sophie with her pretty face and long blonde hair gets sent to the School for Evil while homely, antisocial and grumpy Agatha gets sent to the School for Good. Sophie is determined to show everyone that she is Good and that she deserves to go to the School for Good and become a fairy tale princess while Agatha wants nothing to do with all these magic and school stuff and just wants to escape and go back home to Gavaldon with her best friend. The books are so fun too so I def recommend the book series. Their adventures in their respective schools are also gonna be hilarious, dramatic, EFFING MAGICAL, emotional and gory, YES GORY. And the competition between the Good and Evil students is gonna be comical and exciting AF. (Good students are called Evers short for Everafter while Evil students are called Nevers short for Nevermore.) HAHAHA. Support this film besties once it comes out cause book 2 IS SO MUCH MORE EXHILARATING and we need the whole series to be turned into a film. THIS COULD LITERALLY BE OUR NEXT HARRY POTTER! Sooooooo my dear student... are you Good? Or are you Evil? EDIT: I don't expect y'all to like this plot based on some replies to my comment saying it's been done before when it's literally not. I'm just happy us people who have read the book and loved it all these years will truly appreciate how amazing the story of this book is. AFTER WATCHING THE FILM: sigh. the books are REALLY REALLY FUN but this film was such a let down. the book was better.

I’ve been a MASSIVE fan of this book series for more than 8 years. The film looks INCREDIBLE and it seems to be very faithful to the books. I CANT WAIT!!!!
  • Seeing her as a lead character in Netflix movie meanwhile you've hyped over her since the Beetlejuice is insane! It's hard to notice exact things on bootleg videos but Sophia's talent is hard to miss
  • @JoJos_Mojo
This was one of my favorite books when I was younger! I wasn't expecting to see Michelle Yeoh, seeing her in the cast is so exciting, I bet her character is going to be amazing.
  • I know I shouldn't be disappointed that some characters don't look like their book descriptions, but there's always the part of the reader that is. Doesn't make me less excited to see it. I just hope they get Sophie's unbearable narcissism right.
  • I can’t wait to see this!! I do wish Agatha looked more angry, annoyed and scowling not just surprised, we gotta buy the evil. Cant wait to see some clumps!
  • @redb2178
This looks so interesting!! I'm getting vibes of the black-haired girl fighting everyone - it doesn't matter if they are good guys or bad guys- for her best friend. So excited about this!!!
  • u know the movie is so amazing when u come back to watch the trailer

The School for Good and Evil is technically a book series that I have retained fondness for all these years. Sophia Anne Caruso and Sofia Wylie can do justice to the characters of Sophie and Agatha respectively. Their worlds may be separate, but they do not stray too far from each other. Their friendship can withstand all obstacles and they don't need men saving them from stressful circumstances. They're both just capable of doing great things.

Omg just WOW. I have loved reading these books ever since they first came out and now that it is becoming a movie is just insane. I am so excited and literally can not wait to watch this!! Everything from the actors to the visual effects is amazing and is getting me really hyped! Can’t wait!!
  • Rereading the books while waiting for the movie to come out, I just wanna say what I wish this trailer did better: Personally, the book was all about breaking fairytale stereotypes and not judging a book by its cover. Throughout the book, we are following Sophie wanting to be good and rejecting her villainy, while we follow Agatha beat her own insecurities about looking like a villain herself. If anything, the coven of witches were more welcoming to Agatha when they saw her. The book made a really good case about the two not belonging where they were, really emphasizing that they'd be better off actually switching. Only in the end do we get to realize they really belong in the schools they got dropped in. This trailer feels like a giant spoiler all of a sudden, just showing that Sophie does really belong in Evil, and Agatha gorgeously fitting in her princess dresses and locking eyes with Tedros—who was supposed to hate her because he was judging her by her looks.. The trailer kind of removes the mystery that the first book made me feel, and suddenly the film looks like a very typical fairytale story that's comparable to Harry Potter. It makes the characters seem very one-dimensional all of a sudden. We don't see Sophie suffering in her evil classes, dedicated to proving herself good; we don't see Agatha's insecurities which is a huge part of her arc. And frankly, some of the lines make no sense, so I guess they changed things up because suddenly "evil is controlling Sophie"? And "if Sophie turns evil, we're all doomed"? Then uh, why then forcefully enroll her into the villain school if you don't want her being evil? But if those lines are just for promotion material, then the change is understandable. Either way, I think the trailer and the visuals are gorgeous, I'm scared the film won't deliver the moral of the book effectively or even change the moral, I'm scared our Aggie might not deliver the character Agatha that I read, I hope she acts witty, clever, cunning, but still passionate enough, and I wish that as villainous as our Sophie is, she will still deliver that character who just wants to be a good princess Edit: so they changed a lot of things from the books, unfortunately that bothered me more than it should because it also erased so many themes and morals in the original source... I feel disappointed watching the film.
  • This youtube trailer via Netflix of The School For Good and Evil is very spellbinding, definitely sounds like a school that would hold some entrancing surprises both the school itself and the way that the characters appear to be powerfully written from this movie trailer.

So excited for this! So glad to see a book series I went through my teenage years with finally get attention. My only issue is that to me Agatha should look sickly and, well, evil right at the beginning and become more more beautiful as the story goes on, but man Netflix would have struggled with it cause man the actress for Agatha is gorgeous!
  • @calebenos808
I haven't read the book series but this is giving me "Ever After High" vibes which I am ALL FORRRRRRRRRR. give me all of it immediately!
  • @damamici
I just have to tell I am completely in love with Agatha's hair, it's gorgeous
  • @brittnil1828
I am not someone who has read this book, but I’m excited by this trailer. Also I’m very happy/excited to Sofia Wylie in a more serious role. I really like her in HSMTMTS, and I think she has such great potential to be the next big thing.
  • @4deleDaz33m
I'm so happy that Sofia Wylie has got the recognition she truly deserves. High School Musical The Musical The Series season 3 centered heavily around her which is amazing since Gina is my favourite character in the series. And now she's leading a fantasy movie with Charlize Theron. She's so talented and I cannot wait to see what else she does in the future
  • @xyliadetering
I can't help but scream every single time I see Hester's Demon tattoo, it's just incredible and is exactly how I imagined it to look. I cannot wait for the film to finally be released and wish it was October right now
  • @NAUDebs
just watched it. Loved it and hope for a sequel!
