  • 1:04 you have to get a permit for windows and the front door?!? I am definitely not made for this society. I'ma just build my stuff and do it the way I want to bc it's infinitesimally better than the ways it's 'supposed' to be done today. Like building with hempcrete and other hemp products and other products that also are more fire resistant/proof, mold resistant, big resistant, better insulation, stronger and more as well as doing things like reusing water- taking water from the sink or shower and using it in the toilet.

I was installing a door at my sister in laws house in Chicago and a nosey neighbor called the inspection dept and they issued a stop work order. For an interior door replacement. Some places go so overboard with their inspections

Can I get your opinion on these items? I can’t find answers in the IRC code book! 1. What size TAPCON should I use for anchoring a pressure treated 2x4 sole plate? I am thinking 1/4” x 2 3/4” with no washers. 2. Can I run 2-2-2-4 Copper SER wire perpendicular across my basement ceiling joists? I plan to anchor it on each joist. Drilling holes in the joists is not an option. The wire will feed a 125amp sub panel in my basement. Kind regards and thanks for all the videos!!!

While I get that there should be some regulation when it comes to working on a house, I think the regulations have gotten ridiculous, it seems like they wanna squeeze every penny out your pocket, that's why people dont get permits some times
