Marc Martel is a freaking genius, his voice should be declared a Canadian National Treasure like Elks, Devin Townsed, C. Dion & L.Fabian and the Great Lakes.
  • Surprisingly enough: Marc has mentioned he isn’t classically trained in the opera art form. So seeing him pull this off knowing that he isn’t professionally trained in it is wild…

You should watch his video of his own original song "Stalemate". Plus, you need to watch the Mercurotti video all the way to the end!!!!!
  • Marc has his song "Dead Ringer" and others on his Impersonator album. All the songs are amazing.

I love that Marc was like the Canadian Footloose. His dad was a pastor and he didn’t grow up listening to rock music and had no idea who Queen was. So he didn’t know he sounded like Freddie until he was touring with his band Downhere and people would tell him he sounded like Freddie. I first heard him on Christian radio KLUV and commented to my husband that the singer sounded like a smoother version of young Freddie. Now he’s touring the world selling out his Queen tribute shows! ❤

I liked his cover of Seal’s Kiss from a Rose
  • Highly recommend checking out Marc’s unchained Melody cover. It’s fantastic plus his other non Queen covers as well (Elton John and George Michael covers he does are pretty good too).

You might want to listen to Marc’s rendition of I Will Always Love You and Unchained Melody. Both are simple and beautiful! Marc also has a lot of his own original music on YouTube! ❤️🎼🎹🎸🥁🎤
  • Love your reaction, and key points. Yes, Marc has solo albums, and was in his own band for 13 years, called downhere. You missed the very end! The best part!

"He's a dead ringer for dead singers." I...well...DIED laughing :)

Marc is fantastic! Yet another Canadian talent of whom to be proud. Now, please do have a look at "Two Country Singers Try Singing Opera": Rob Lundquist and Austin Brown perform Nessun Dorma. It's surprisingly good :)
  • i was convinced you were going to actually make it to the end of the video...& then that jump back just obliterated all of my hopes & dreams, haha. it's a fairly funny moment, sadly missed by nearly everyone. regardless, been saying it for years now...marc's talent is worth celebrating & reveling in the spender of. thanks for featuring him on your channel!

Marc does two operatic duets with Natalia Krishtopets. There isn't a video though, just an audio version. He also does a number of non-Queen covers - probably the two best are I Will Always Love You and Unchained Melody. But also Don't Let the Sun Go Down on Me and Right Here Waiting. As well, he has his own original songs.
