Another testament to these cars is the fact that the guys who set the world record done it in a new car and to be only 100 miles short of that record in a 13yr old car with 100k miles is truly remarkable. Outstanding video guys.👋👋👋👋

Thank you guys, showing what has been available to us for the past 15 years or more. Less than 3L per 100km in a very good comfort, the Passat is by all means big enough, comfortable enough etc. And the engine is at 97,000 miles

Funnily enough when I attempted my own range challenge in a BMW 520d with the same tank capacity as your passat I actually ended up on the exact same number in kilometres that you did in miles (1484). And I thought that was impressive. Absolutely lost for words.

92mpg is impressive, I thought I was doing well to get 44mpg this week on the French motorway in my petrol Audi TT at normal motorway speeds. I went off the motorway between Reims and Saint Quentin because of the torrential rain with a spectacular thunderstorm

Great video. Due to financial constraints many years ago I had no choice but to eek as many mpg out of whatever vehicle I was driving. This style of driving has stayed with me long into the time where I no longer need to worry. Highlights have been 85mpg out of a single tank of diesel in a Peugeot 106d, 37mpg from a Jagaur XK 5.0, and 110mpg out of my Honda NC750X motorcycle...
