I had the same "window is not working" problem. Also the same exact window, the back driver side window. I slammed the back door while holding the power window button as you demonstrated. It works! I haven't been able to use that window for 2+ years, and now i can! Thanks Scotty!

My 2013 Ford Edge Limited AWD only had an automatic window for the driver's side. The other windows were regular power windows. So I removed the master switch assembly on the driver's door and replaced it with one from a 2013 Lincoln MKX, replaced the regular switch on the passenger side with an automatic switch, changed out the passenger window motor, purchased the proper wiring harnesses, ran a single additional wire from the driver's door to the passenger door for master control of the automatic passenger window, and connected all the proper wiring in both doors. Now I have automatic windows on the driver's side and the passenger side. It was fun.

I had this exact problem with my Toyota Avalon. The right front door window wouldn't go down when I tried to activate it from the driver's side control. It was stuck. I did what Scotty advised and it worked! Thank you Scotty!
  • Hate those rip-off dudes. You're the mechanic we all need in our neighborhood. Thanks for all the info. You are the "Car Guy's " of YouTube. !!!!

Also, works for the sunroof. Spray it on the rails and anywhere there is contact.
  • @jwelchon2416
Another good use for silicon spray is for the door seals. Here in Missouri during winter, moisture will freeze the door shut. Keeping the rubber sprayed will keep that from happening.

Thank you Mr. Kilmer for this and all the other videos you make! I had an 2002 infiniti g35 that power window went out 2 mos. after the warranty expired. $500 bill at the dealer, and when I asked how many of these get replaced to the mechanic he said "a lot". I asked if there was anything that could be done to prevent, he said "no". Life lesson learned years pre youtube explosion. You would want a world filled with honest repair men and women, but at least with this video channel we get a chance to learn from some of the very best!

Awesome Scotty thank you. As a single woman now that my husband has passed. I have to do everything to keep my car going! In 18 years he taught me a lot! But I am gonna try the silicone to keep windows going. Our garage looks like yours! He has a can of everything!!!! Thanks again! You are a wealth of information!!
  • @umangu
I could spend 6 months of quarantine watching your videos Scotty!! A-grade entertainment, regardless of all the knowledge you're imparting!!
  • I never understand why some people give You a 'thumbs down'. You're doing it great. Thanks from Holland.
  • @tomjones2348
Scotty, your videos are consistently easy to watch, informative and even entertaining. The vast majority of people making videos on youtube have no idea how to accomplish this. You should make a 3 minute video on....how to make a video.
  • @user-rr6eb2wi2l
Scotty truly loves helping people. I love his enthusiasm. Thank you Scotty.
  • @U2BER2012
Those John Lennon glasses definitely are Scotty's trademark.
  • I tried this on my 94' Celica which has power windows and it really works! Great information! Thank you Scotty!
  • @ashimoda9732
Hey I tried the holding the power window buttons down while closing the doors. It worked! This was also on a 89 E30 and now all of my power windows work! Thanks Scotty!
  • @pay9011
This really worked. I had a really slow driver side window. Gave it a decent sized spray and now it works great. I'd been putting it off for a couple years. Scotty's video made me finally do it.
