Before the start of the war, thousands of Russian nationals lived in Ukraine, many of whom now find themselves torn between their country of origin and the place they have come to call home. Some, like 40-year-old Andrey Sidorkine who has lived in Kyiv for 15 years, say they are willing to take up arms against invading Russian forces to protect their adopted country.

  • Please everyone, please remember that not all Russian people are our enemies. Like this woman who fled the modern day Czar oppression.
  • Andrey is so cool. Great that he understands why he is not able to be in the official Ukrainian army and doesn’t get angry about it, still helping as a volunteer.
  • It's important to not make this war into a war between Ukranian and Russian people. But rather against the regime currently controlling Russia which claims to speak for Russian people.

Thank you for informing us of their plight. My heart goes out to them and I pray for safety and Ukrainian assistance. Peace & Love ❤️🙏
  • Congratulations to the brave Russians standing against this invasion. 🇺🇦🙏

Hello from the US... absolutely- there is a difference between the true wishes of the people and the wishes/ ambitions of those in power who are willing to go to extreme measures to manipulate the general populous to their goals.... this is true in every nation to a large or smaller degree... don't give up your humanity by taking all "official" pronouncements and policies immediately to heart... listen but do your own fact checking before committing to a policy that can soak your hands in blood against your friends and neighbors....we all deserve better than to be manipulated and sacrificed for the ambition of the tyrannical few.

The Russian people are also victims of this madness. This is Putin’s war not Russia’s.
  • I know that there's a lot of good Russian people just because what Putin's doing doesn't mean that all Russians agree with him I know they don't I see them protesting against him God bless the civilians in Russia God bless the ukrainians god somehow find a peacemaker

I hope that the dictatorship in Russia will fall. People deserves human rights, justice, freedom but of course they must respect the law. Without order there is a chaos but too much of everything do more harm than benefit. Too much of dictatorship but also too much of freedom is not good. It is important to have strong laws which applies to everyone to ensure the balance.

Poland has been getting to know Russian politicians for above 80 years and knows them very well that's why "History teaches that a democracy without values easily turns into open or disguised totalitarianism" Pope John Paul II

There are always people who give us hope for a better future, even in the current moment of darkness. People who have a soul know that they must stand up to the evil in this world. It is the only way to affirm the Divine against real evil.
