Long Lost Family UK Season 09 Episode 04

Episode four is an hour-long special following one woman’s search for her mother and, through the use of DNA testing, reveals layers of her family she never knew existed.

Kathleen Fraser Jackson was adopted as a baby and grew up in London. At the age of three her adoptive mother died. Kathleen was then raised by her adoptive father and stepmother, until she was sent to boarding school aged five. After her mother passed away, Kathleen felt lost. She tells the programme: “If you haven’t got a mother, you don’t get loved. I realised that that’s how I felt my whole life.”

True confession. I've watched this episode multiple times, especially when I need emotional boost, a positive way to end my day before bed. Kathleen Fraser Jackson's spirit/soul makes my heart sing. What a marvelous woman! Her sister and brother are sweet and gentle souls as well. We need more people like these in our world.
  • Kathleen is such a giving person--she reached out and comforted her sister, let her sister talk to their mother first, comforted them both, what a pure, loving heart. Her sister has lived such a similar to hers, and Teddy is a prince of a man. I'm so glad for her.

Who else wish they were friends with Kathleen? She just seems so sweet and kind. Owi. Her brother seems so cool man. Wowa

They better have a Jamaican family reunion. This family got huge fast! I'm surprised how smooth this went. Grandma was wild back in the day. Good they found each other in time. This was sweet.

Supposed to be doing housework, sat for a second to watch a short clip I came across on YouTube now I'm sat here almost crying. Spring cleaning abandoned!

Hands down my favorite episode! Kathleen’s good works finally came back and she found people she never even dreamed of. My cheeks hurt from smiling.

I have NEVER seen mixed raced children who not only look like each other, despite having different fathers, but looks so much like the birth mother. She has STRONG genes. Kathleen has sown so much love in her community. She’s simply receiving it all back. She has Jean deserves happiness. What a Happy ending. Yes, I cried terribly. Love from the U.S. (Chicago). ❤️

Kathleen is going to need a travel agent to keep up with all of her new family connections, Scotland, Canada, Jamaica...😃

Seeing Kathleen and Teddy having the same hairstyle as each other for decades without knowing the other person existed warms my heart.

Maaaannn when Gene was leaning on Kathleen's shoulder @27:40 and she said "This is us now!" Probably the most powerful statement this whole episode 😭
  • @melamorales
Kathleen the daughter, what a beautiful and kind spirit. I felt instantly connected to her. I feel like everyone she meets is blessed. I would be overjoyed to find I was related to this woman!

How amazing!! Teddy has that tranquil personality we associate with jamaicans and Kathleen is such a sweetheart. So happy they found each other! Imagine the party in Jamaica welcoming them haha
  • @DonDemarcoJuan
Would be nice to track down Jean's family on her dad's side as well.
  • @Whimsey6
This episode really got to me. The meeting between the two sisters was so filled with love and joy. The part at 27:37 where Jean lays her head on Kathleen's shoulder was very moving.
  • @dorothydanridge
The Mom owned up to what she'd done. She'd even told her legitimate children about the illegitimate ones. She was not ashamed of her lifestyle. She was ahead of her time.

In Kathleen, the Jamaican side is stronger. You could see it in her joyful demeanor, her warm personality, her emotional reaction and social composure always wanting to be and share with others. That's the Caribbean spirit right there. Her brother is a true Jamaican; the talk, the walk, the stare, so beautiful to see. Everybody has their own genuine God given identity. Beautiful story, I enjoyed this one.
