If you arrive in Saint Denis with nice clothes when looking for Bronte, the bar doesn't all stop and stare at you when you come in. The Bartender also doesn't ignore you as heavily. I only recently tried this after playing for years.
-
Bronte is a great villian for Dutch because he is an outlaw of the past coming face to face with an outlaw of the future. Bronte and his organization are proof that even the criminal underworld is leaving them behind.
-
“You boys found my pappys watch yet?!” John’s one liners will always be the best 😂
-
Im convinced this man will never run out of red dead videos.
-
Red Dead gets a lot of praise but no one ever talks about the set work and shot composition, the way John, Dutch, and Arthur are reduced sitting all little on that couch across from Brontë when they first meet is a hilarious bit of physical comedy begat from the framing. It also highlights Arthur and John’s bewilderment. They’ve been taken off guard, and Brontë is reclined and relaxed — in emotional control of the situation, manipulating Dutch with ease. Video games have a tendency to turn off the part of my brain that appreciates cinematography because most of the game is a static third person view but if I manually pay attention it’s very rewarding and it’s certainly work that the developers deserve praise for

"Those were the days." Dutch biting his tongue and eating the insult is a great scene.
-
What Dutch was too stupid to realize is that if that trolley station did have a shit ton of money, Brontë would have either snatched it himself or some other gang would have. Also it would have been heavily guarded to begin with.
-
I love freeing the Mayor’s assistant, did it in my first playthrough and seeing him becoming mayor when playing as John is a cool detail
-
Always loved the part where Arthur holds that guy’s arm to light his cigar😂”alright now get lost “
-
Hearing how Bronte talks to the characters, it reminds me that feeding him to the alligator was justified.
-
I still think Bronte always intended to give Jack back, and he treated Jack like a prince because he knew that would sadden and anger the people Jack was going back to, hearing him talk about Bronte as "Papa". He's truly a sick man
-
Bronte is such a good villain. Seeing him power-play over Dutch is wild. Thanks for the great content as always!
-
I remember the introduction to Saint Denis. The pure filth you felt seeing all the factories active, working all the poor people to death. I hated the very sight of it and you could feel Dutch and Arthur feeling the same. I think Rockstar truly perfected the "Wild west" and the civil world in one map. The way the people are so different compared to Tumbleweed or other livestock towns really makes you ponder if humanity ever really changed for the best.

I just completed a replay and finally realized the blue restaurant with striped awnings by Algernon Wasp’s greenhouse is Commander’s Palace, a fantastic NOLA restaurant in business continuously since the 1800s, where several famous TV chefs started out (the tiniest details of New Orleans architecture are captured as well as the city’s legendary corruption)
-
It chuckled me how Arthur first met the mayor in his mansion with his beard looking well-shaped and came a second time with a full fledged Viking beard shortly after. The things Saint Denis offer you...
-
I like that the kid can lead you to a group of other young thugs who tell you where to go but man i’ve never wanted to slap children more in a game than that cutscene
-
the mission where arthur and john search the cemetery is so good. the fog, the darkness mixed with the lighting. ah, i adore it.
-
Bronte is disgustingly evil. You could see Arthur noticing it when Dutch and Bronte were talking on the balcony
-
Bronte playing Dutch in front of his face added a ton to both of them. All his life, Dutch mostly robbed dumb, country folks but he couldn't help it once he came into contact with a powerful man from the city who thought himself untouchable
