She really thought she ate this video up...💀😭
  • You can wear braids, just don’t appropriate or mock anyone. Box braids aren’t a race thing, it’s a hair thing. Yes, it came from Black culture(I believe), but other people who have curly hair can also get box braids for their hair.

I’m African and I don’t care if white people wear braids. It’s not a crime and the people telling you that you can’t have braids are CRAZY. So you do you, I think you look beautiful in braids 😭✋🏾

As an African, I don’t have an issue. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. What I need to convey. There are certain cultural differences, that were frowned upon and has a stigma associated with it, many had to suffer ultimately endure in silence. With little to no help from our counterparts. However once the dominant race embraces it, all of a sudden it's cool, hip & trendy!! And if anyone Africans brings up the contradiction. We're told to get over! That's my issue! But I can appreciate that you've acknowledge the origin. That's a step in the right direction for me👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽

If you find this offensive or rude in any way, I do apologize sincerely: I'm just sharing some of my life. Throughout middle school, I had seen people with braids, twists, etc. I loved these hairstyles but when I braided my hair (dutch braids) or used twists even in my dolls hair, I felt like people were going to scream at me for liking the hairstyle. I understand you like this hairstyle but just remember you can't make anyone like it. If you are mentioning insecurities, don't make other people give you insecurities about what you use; don't make people like your hair or hate it. [BTW, this came from a caucasian]

  • This is the thing, until Black people, until Black Children can wear their own hair, or when a Federal Crown Act passes, when schools and business stop calling our hair unkept, messy, until we can wear it without putting on wigs to make you comfortable, or cutting it to perform sports, etc. because a lot of you are still intimidated by Black Peoples hair, when we can wear our hair and it’s not worn by other cultures as a party outfit and they take it off the next day and go to their professional meetings or business meanwhile you removed the hair because you yourself believe what society says about it, Our hair is not a costume, we wear it out of necessity, you want to wear it for cool points see, when you have no empathy on how Black Women were treated because of their hair, the legislation passed to cover it, shaving our heads and putting our hair in your furniture, or setting our hair on fire for night torches, while it was still on our heads etc. you can’t give us any of that back, but you can leave our hair alone and I myself don’t understand how none of you understand or maybe you just don’t care, and that would be vintage your people. Do a little research before you asked questions you’re using sarcasm for.
