I'm generally not in love with EVs, but I'm really excited about these upcoming 718. From what Porsche has said so far they could be amazing cars and really redefine the standards for the segment of small "affordable" sports cars.

Happy owner of a 718 Cayman GTS 4.0 PDK here, and not at all interested in replacing this with an EV version! However, when it comes to replacing the family car in a couple of years (an RS6 C7, which I still enjoy immensely!), I will probably be looking at an EV.

with all my respect saying that you can offset the battery weight with lighter body panels is export grade bullshit that will never happen unless the batteries have atleast 1000wh /kg specific energy and that won't happen in the next decade !

This is by far the best european youtube channel for cars enthusiasts, although I just can't get exited without the exhaust notes of internal combustion engines.... it's going to be a painful switch. Thanks a lot, saludos desde Colombia (SA)!
