ABS fittings are tapered - so you need to hold them for 30 seconds or so otherwise they taper will push it off slightly.

San-Tee is not allowed in horizontal position and also, i wouldn't worry about dusty interior of your DWV...

Dang Chris your about to hit 150K subs! And you only hit 100K two years ago! Sun count’s starting to speed up!
  • Hi, very useful information thank you. Have a question though. I need to cut an abs pipe (an old about 2 inches connector part that was glued years ago) that is already in the floor and there is very little space. Can you tell me how would you cut that, please? I cannot use a circular saw, neither a saber saw. I have an oscillating multi tool can it do a clean cutting job? Also, this pipe is 1 1/2 in because there was a bath that I removed... But what if I keep this pipe for the shower that I'm planning to put there instead of the bath? What problem migh occur? Thank you very much for your answers.

Do you need the primer? I’m new to this or can you do it with the cement only
  • @NMETSGChan
This one is the perfect example of when you don't know how to do something you shouldn't try to teach other how to do it. YOU SHOULD NOT USE Sanitary Tee horizontally.
  • ABS is a one step solvent weld process, look it up..... Idk why they sell those combo packs with the yellow can of acetone cleaner, read the label of the black cement and you'll learn that primer and cleaner are both forbidden
  • San tee is allowed on the horizontal if it's a vent... I didn't like that he butchered the studs. Buy a hole saw. Also I'm pretty sure it was a 90° but he said 60, twice...
  • Your not doing the plumbing right Santee can't be plumbed om its back
  • Those are 1/8 bends, not 1/6 bends.... Translation: You're incorrectly calling 45° elbows, 60° elbows....
  • That's the oldest cellular core ABS pipe I've ever saw lol.... It's very unfortunate that solid core ABS is all but obsolete nowadays
  • @bigglilwayne7050
Everything you're doing here is wrong... The first thing I'd do is cut everything you did out, then tackle installing it all correctly....
  • 🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️🤦🏻‍♂️wtf
