Here I am with a tour of Pez2k's latest build of his Gran Turismo 2 plus mod, a mod that involves making GT2 feel more complete. The mod features fixes to the menus, new cars, new tune options for existing cars, restored content, and more. I'm simply going to provide a full tour of the dealerships to show what changed along with gameplay of some of the new or altered cars in action. With that said, I hope you enjoy this video as I spent a lot of time on it.

Here's the link to Pez2k's thread on GTPlanet, the OP mentions everything about the mod:

Once again, thanks to Tremendouz for allowing me to use his GT2 song covers in the video. Here's a link to his channel if you want to check out more of his work: youtube.com/@Tremendouz/videos

A link to my video related to Esso/Exxon as I promised. I actually made it about the Esso Supra in GT4, but the video includes talk about Esso/Exxom themselves.    • Gran Turismo: Mystery of the Esso Ult...

Notes:
- I skipped over comparing the racing modifications and race cars with how they looked in regular GT2 as the video was too long. Though, I did record all of the Racing Modifications if you want to compare them:    • Gran Turismo 2 Racing Modification sh...
- Mattj155 also did a video on the prize cars if you wanted to compare those to some of the cars in this video:    • Gran Turismo 2: All Prize Cars in all...
- If you're wondering about what this mod can work on. It can work on emulators and even on mobile along with consoles. With that said, I can't explain how to get it working on mobile or figure out how to burn it on disc as I never tried either. I always stuck to PC when playing things like this.
- Pez2k reported that the mod now uses its own saves, so save glitches should be less of a worry.
- While content from GT1 along with the demos of both GT1 & 2 are restored, not everything is coming back. The CLK-GTR for instance won't be returning as there's no model officially made by PD available in any GT2 demo and I'm not sure if Pez2k wants to add fanmade models.
- The intention of this mod is to be just a more complete version of GT2, so don't expect newer cars to be added.
- Pez2k also mentions that due to the 2mb ram limit on the PS1, multiple A.I. car sounds is sadly impossible to pull off.
- Like with the previous builds of this mod, it should still work on PS1 and perhaps even mobile emulators. I know it works on ePSXe and Duckstation myself as I tried it on both.
- With that said, I don't have an answer on how to get the mod to work on PS1 discs or install it for mobile. I assume for smart devices, there's a patch app you can install somewhere and a zip file extractor. But that's all I can do to help.

  • Hi, here's my new video. Remember to read the description and you might need to come back to this comment later. :D EDIT: It's later. If you're wondering why I haven't compared the updated RMs with their vanilla GT2 counterparts, I just didn't want to drag the video out any longer than it is. I'm just going to make a separate video comparing those. Right after I do my new/updated prize car guide for this mod. In which I'm going to put a spoiler tag on it as I'm guessing some people want the new prize cars to be a surprise. Once again, if you have any questions about the mod, refer to the video description first. The link to the mod download is there. Note: If you need help still installing it, here's a more detailed explanation: After downloading the patch for your version of GT2, you're going to install that patch onto your iso/bin file for GT2. To do that, you use a program called xdelta. You can probably find it in a quick google search. Once you have xDelta on your computer, you open it, then you click on the button asking you to select patch, you select the patch you downloaded, then select what file the patch is getting attached to (which is your GT2 iso), then you save the newly made file made from that. Just name it GT2 Plus or something to make it easy to remember. Also remember to type .bin to the name as if you don't do that; the file won't load.

Viper having its blue colour with stripes is a must. I can't believe they've never had it as an option ever again after GT1.
  • @AbstrusoTV
After all this years i'm still playing and enjoying GT2 specially since discovered the duckstation settings and cheats for 4x 60FPS 16:9 Also enjoying using steering wheel much better than back in the days using the xbox gamepad emulator, x360e, emulates the steering wheel (logitech DF EX) as if it is a gamepad, then using the x360e settings to personalice everything, the feeling of vibrations, the dead zone or anti-dead zone, linearity, fast or slow response... oh boy, i'm enjoying so much. Its amazing how people still playing classic games and lovin it
  • @MrRyoogi
The fact that this gem still receives mods and updates is a thing of love. Sort of makes me wish that they could somehow bust the code fully open and make further customizations such as track creation and/or new cars a possibility.
  • @EmpanadaDeCaca
Thank you for this showcase and to the people who made this mod possible!
  • @MAX80012
    Excellent work. Congratulations for All!!
  • @bobbobson3652
I’m so glad this mod exists, tempted to do another playthrough again with it after beating GT1
  • @jdcp8976
great! i tried this mod like 2 years ago and was amazing, definitely the best way to play the game right now, lets check what new we have.
  • @NicoSavage
I watch your videos more than i comment but wanted to say thank for your effort in showcasing things
  • Ah yes 1 hour of video of pure pleasure to watch just like a movie!😻❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
  • Wow that mod just made gt2 look Even cooler. And great video as always.
  • This modding just goes on a on! 😮 So glad gt is getting this huge amount of love. Hope the pi pico station mod grows in compatibility to try playing this on real hardware someday.
  • @Leonidae
Man, these soundtracks take me back 🥰
  • @Steventhe2nd
Now if we can get rid of the AI engine sounds and make them sound like the actual cars in the game, we'd be in business
  • @FusionArmorX
Love the mod. If there's one thing I'd do, I'd probably make the NASCAR Taurus a special model of its own, due to the fact a fully modified Taurus can't really reach the same speeds of the NASCAR aesthetic.
