Neil Peart (1952-2020) R.I.P.

This is the cruelest irony I've ever known in my 54 years. One of the greatest musical minds in rock history was taken by brain cancer. It's been almost 2 years, and it still hurts like hell.

THE single greatest drummer of ALL time. End of story.

1977 it was A Farewell To Kings 2020 It is a A Farewell to A King.

Neil dying without anyone having any idea he was even sick is exactly how he would want it.

He has reunited with his wife and daughter. Godspeed, Neil.

Neil’s passing has wrecked me and this is why: Neil died from brain cancer. A glioblastoma, to be exact. It’s the very same thing that killed my dad. That brain cancer had a horrific effect on Daddy. It completely stripped him of every ounce of dignity, personality and intelligence that he ever possessed. His last few months were a nightmare for him and for us, his family. My heart absolutely breaks when I think about what Neil most likely had to endure before he died. I’m just shattered, completely shattered. RIP Neil. You’ll never know exactly how much you meant to your fans. You were greatly loved and respected, and you will be sorely missed. You will NEVER be forgotten. 💔😭 Thank you so much for making this video, Rick.

I know it’s almost “taboo” in today’s society to say someone is the the best, but for this one I’m gonna say it - Neil Peart was the best in my opinion. May he Rest In Peace.

Neil Peart was, is and ever will be the best drummer in music.

It is rare that the death of anyone makes me cry. Especially someone I never met. But this one was crushing.
