ZOMBIE MOD is literally my whole childhood and i still play it today. I can confidently say that this old mod is literally better than most of the zombie games nowadays. I would definitely love to watch a whole video about the history and everything it took to create the mod. Good video btw! <3

An interesting note to point at is that Biohazard was the first zombie mode that was made for CS1.6 in 2007 IIRC. It was like the regular zombie mode but with a slower pace and slightly different mechanics and less content. Pretty fun for its time.

One gamemode that was really fun and I havent seen mentioned in this comment section is Warcraft 3(or war3ft). You could pick from a ton of classes(loosely inspired by warcraft 3 ofc) each of which gave you cool unique special abilities and you could earn xp to level up your abilities and when you reached level 6 you would unlock an ultimate which was an extra powerful ability for which you had to bind a button to use and had a cooldown. One example of a class that I still remember was the Human Alliance whose abilities were giving you more hp when you spawned, a chance to lock the enemies hit in place for a second, making your character transparent and harder to see and its ultimate was teleporting the wherever you were aiming. This gamemode was kinda annoying in a standard counter strike game because you could easily get killed nearly instantly with some of these abilities, however with deathmatch enabled this was a TON of fun and it made deathmatch even more chaotic and fast-paced. Sadly today there dont seem to be many active war3 servers not full of bots. Another combination of gamemodes which I really like is surf+gungame. I played a ton on this one gungame server with only surf maps which was insanely fun. Sadly the server is long gone. The same server creators of the above server had a zombie plague server with a slight twist. Zombies respawned whenever they were killed. It was called Zombie Respawn. Ive always enjoyed this spinoff more than traditional modern zombie plague because oftentimes the first few zombies just get dominated because they are basically unable to move when everyone is shooting them which is really annoying. Zombies respawning made the humans actually have to hide in hard to reach places and it made playing as a zombie so much more enjoyable. One last gamemode I would like to mention is paintball mode. Ive played this mode for too many years and I still come back to it. Its a mode where instead of shooting normal bullets, you shoot projectiles that deal 100dmg which can be dodged with good movement (also paintball guns have 100% accuracy no recoil). Naturally this means that when you shoot at an enemy you have to consider projectile travel speed, where that enemy will be by then, which way they are moving and you also have to think about dodging their projectiles by changing movement direction, jumping etc. You can spread projectiles over an entire area to maximize your chances of hitting enemies. You can prefire contact points. Two good players dueling each other can involve a lot of cool mindgames and prediction. There is a lot of skill that can go into this gamemode and its simplicity makes me feel like it would work well as an esport(wishful thinking of course). This is the only gamemode I mentioned which still has active servers with decently high players counts. You can search for them on gametracker.

as an honourable mention, paintball mode can be added in the sequel of this video. i've never understood the sense of adding a paintball system and replacing it with real guns but it was hella fun and underrated.

Wait wait wait.. Did you really forget about "Scoutzknivez"?! A mode popular enough to become a featured mode in CS:GO (under the name Flying Scoutsman)
  • @MajesXD
Cod modes, gun games and deathruns are literally my golden trio of childhood.

I remember a really odd gamemode i played years ago (like 2012 or 2013). That gamemode was "paintball" and it had it's own maps with the prefix "pb_". The gamemode was bassically that, CTs and Ts had paintball weapons that killed in one shot, but the weapons weren't the default CS weapons that shoot piantballs, no, the mode had it's own custom weapons. You had the pistol, the smg, the assault rifle, the shotgun and the sniper. Every weapon was an insta kill but the thing was that it wasn't hitscan like the the normal weapons but the paintballs were actual entities with a model and everything that needed to hit the enemy player much like the nailguns in Team Fortress Classic. Man do i miss that mod but it seems that it doesn't exist anymore or likely the few servers that still host it have no players.

Ah nothing like blocking the zombie spawn on a basebuilding map then leaving when the admin arrives only to come back half an hour later. CLASSIC.
  • Biohazard was the best, playing it early in the morning and hiding while every1 gets infected was so fun and scary. Like in dust2, i would hide behind the boxes next to the ramp in long A, and no one could find me lol
  • @trxsh.rxin.
Fun fact: Map tag "fy_" isn't actually fight yard, it's the first "fy_snow" map type creators nickname tag "FantasY" :))

I'm not too fond with the movement modes but the ones that I'll always enjoy are deathmatch, gun game and of course zombie mode. I spent hundreds of hours playing those back in the day especially zombie mode when it was trendy back in 2008-2012 where the maps were cool and dark as f*** and the zombies were the ones from Half-Life 2.

Hope you can make a video about the Furien mode. I used to play it so much and remeber having tons of fun. CTs are normal with maybe some hp and armor boosted while T are aliens with high speed and low gravity, can stick to walls and if they don't move they're invisible. They can only use knives tho! It was super fun
  • @ZeBadmedic.
The Hide N Seek Mode had a version with special blocks (Jump Block, Kill Block, Speedboost Block etc.) :)
  • @BigDragon15
In eastern Europe, Diablo and CoD mods were the shit back in the day. Non-stop, 24/7 grinding, ridiculous classes, stats and skills made me play 12 hours a day on the weekends, each weekend back in primary school. Those were the times xD
  • @Racxaz
Zombie Base Builder, Zombie Mode, Deathrun, and Jailbreak were the ones I played the most when I was a child, they were so much fun. I miss playing these now that there are no cs servers in my country. Great video!

I would often enjoy partaking in the occasional low gravity game during 1.6 days, probably the easiest mod to do. It worked well with some maps (the mice/rats types were good) more than others.

Hey man I just found out a this video and went on a rampage watching all cs video related. From learning new tricks and facts, to reminiscing happily with a touch of sadness and nostalgia knowing those good times will never come back. It really hit on the spot. I love all the content, effort, research, and love you have for this game! Keep it up!
  • Your vids are just a blast from the past!!! Nostalgia is one hell of a drug xd thank you for the vids ❤❤❤
