WKRP in Cincinnati - Bomb Threat part 2 of 2

Published 2017-11-19
Video quality is choppy and not the best. The difference with this video is ALL of the songs used in the tv show episode is heard. Kool & the Gang "Celebration" is playing in the background, while Andy Travis and Bailey Quarters are working on a plan in the DJ booth at the station. Then, there is a cut to the transmitter, tilting down from the tower to the door, followed by Venus Flytrap starting up a "slow handed" record player by the Pointer Sisters.

  • I really wish they would spend the money and pay the rights for the original music and released on Blu Ray. This is one of the best TV series of all time.

I worked in radio for 20 years and I can relate to a lot of things that occurred at WKRP.

"Phone Cops" is my favorite ever WKRP schtick, Johnny's paranoid raving is such a piece of world building, and a great high-stakes story, like the fire and tornado episodes.

Thx u! I haven't seen this episode since early 80's. This was one of the funniest episodes ever.
  • This was recorded late 1990 early 1991, in syndication on the Canadian CBC network. This recording did keep the original songs, such as Kool & and The Gang "Celebration".

Love the episode... but it's unwatchable quality.

I love it when Johnny is afraid of the phone. Cops! Think the netball bomber was part of their program quote. They play hardball

Johnny was probably smoking the marijuana that was in his desk draw. That's why he was so paranoid about the phone cops
  • Did you notice that, when Andy Travis was on the phone with "Black Monday", he asked Herb Tarlek, to run over and tell Jennifer Marlowe, that the bomb is hidden in the toolbox. After that, Herb is no longer part of that episode.

I like that the transmitter blew up in the middle of a song called “She’s A Bad Mama Jama.” Maybe the worst song we ever heard played on WKRP, not counting the elevator music.

What would have made this episode even funnier would have been if they had played The Kinks' "Destroyer" at 14:20. I think that would have been epic!

Gary Sandy in his tight jeans is the only reason I watch this show😆
